"Are you sure about this, Virge?" Dee spoke quietly as his mate ran about grabbing things. "We could always do this another..."
"Oh, no you don't." Remus laughed as he jumped on Dee with a bright beaming smile. "Colt never let us do anything together. This is the first date we're allowed to have."
"But that's my point." Dee frowned as he looked over at Virgil as if expecting him to change his mind. "Are you absolutely sure this ok?"
"Janus Wayne!" Dee flinched as Virgil took his hand with a soft smile. "Go have fun with your mate. You deserve it."
"Colt didn't think so." Virgil frowned as he brushed his packmate's hair back.
"Colt isn't your alpha anymore. I am... and I say go." Dee smiled as he nodded letting Remus drag him to the door. "Besides, I may have invited someone over and... I think it might be best if you two aren't here when they get here." Remus froze up at that. He shot his mate this look before growling defensively and Virgil sighed.
"Don't you start either. It's my job to protect you not the other way round."
"We protect each other, Virgie." Remus frowned as Dee pulled him in. "If you want us to stay..."
"I want you to be a normal couple for once." Virgil narrowed his eyes with a playful glare as he stomped his foot inciting a laugh from the two other wolves. "If you two don't get your asses in gear, I swear..."
"Ok, Ok..." Dee beamed as he held his hands up defensively. "We got it. We're not wanted."
"Nope!" The whole room burst into laughter as Virgil literally pushed the two towards the door without any issues. "Just gonna paint and wait to see if the guy shows up. You two have fun."
"Ok, Virgie." Remus spun around placing a soft kiss on Virgil's cheek before running off. "Thank you!"
"Ok, get up!" Patton kicked the bed Roman was on and frowned as the man groaned pathetically. "Roman, get up."
"No." Patton stood there clenching his fists as Roman looked up at him with puffy eyes, his eyes a deep blood red color showing just how upset he really was.
"Roman dear, you can't do this to yourself." Roman laughed as he rolled onto his back, tears slowly moving to soak into the sheets. Patton took a deep breath as he sat down beside his alpha. "I met someone today." Roman narrowed his eyes as Patton just smiled. "Smelled a bit... off, I don't know. He said he knew Colt..." Roman's eyes slowly got wider as Patton looked over at him. "...and his 'group'."
"HE KNEW REMUS?!" Roman jumped up nearly knocking Patton over who just kept smiling. "Does he know..."
"Kiddo, there wasn't much I could get from him. He seemed really upset I even asked but... He did say Colt was the only one he knew something happened to." Roman's eyes shined brightly as Patton brushed his tears away. "I think... maybe it would be good if you met him yourself."
"Wait, what?" Patton handed Roman the card he had gotten and watched as his eyes narrowed in confusion. "New Moon Portraits and Art Studio?"
"He owns it apparently. Even offered to do a free portrait for me." Roman sighed as he shook his head and frowned. "Roman, you need to get up and out of this room. I know I can't force you but... please, kiddo. Maybe Virgil can tell you more about Colt and Remus and all that."
"I don't know Pat. I just have this feeling..." Patton took Roman's hand and smiled sadly seeing the anxiety in his friend. "I don't think I should be going. It's like... I feel as though I'm not... allowed."
"I was given an open invitation." Roman groaned as he shook his head again.
"No, Pat. You're not understanding..."
"Yes, I do. Your instincts are telling you not to go. Roman, I've been your friend for a long time. I know your alpha gift. I'm telling you not to listen to it." Patton stood himself up holding out his hand for Roman to take and smiled. "I'm going regardless. Please tell me you are too?"
"Ok, fine." Patton squealed as Roman laughed letting his bubbly friend pull him up. "But only to protect you. I'm telling you, I've got a weird feeling about all this."
It didn't take them long to get in the car. All three were feeling something. Patton was excited. Logan was happy seeing Patton happy. Roman, well, he was concerned. He's been sensing another alpha for quite some time now and it was making him very on edge. Now with Patton taking him to this art studio thing, Roman just couldn't get this feeling to go away. As they pulled in Roman's hair stood up and even Logan could sense his alpha's distress.
"Roman, is everything ok?" Roman couldn't take his eyes off the sign. It had this beautiful purple wolf just staring at everyone with the name 'New Moon' in big bold letters. If that wasn't enough to make him worried though the scent was. Roman's eyes dilated as he took in all the scents around him.
"Oh, calm yourself. I'm sure it's..."
"Love, I know you smell it too." Logan whispered as Patton frowned.
"Yes, but... I'm telling you I didn't smell wolf on him. He just smelt... weird." Roman frowned as he watched Patton unbuckle. "Besides, I'm not trespassing even if he was. I was given an open invitation."
"You were." Roman whispered as his packmates started to get out. "We weren't. Patton, I told you something felt off like I shouldn't be here."
"Roman, if you want to know more about Remus's pack than this is the only option I can think of right now." Roman frowned as he got out himself and his entire being was telling him to run. This was claimed property. Sure the town was his territory and the idea of another pack moving in burned him to the core but... There's an unspoken agreement that a pack's base is a safe space. Roman being there on their property was a literal slap to their alpha's face. Patton took Roman's hand and smiled softly as he led his alpha to the door. "If you're that concerned, I can always ask."
"But, Pat..." The door opened before Roman could even say anything and he froze at the onslaught of wolf that took over his senses. "Patton..."
"You came!" Roman tensed hearing the deep gravelly laugh in front of him. "I was beginning to think you didn't catch on." The man before him was slim but fit. You could tell he was tone even under that black tank he wore. He had ripped black jeans on and a patchwork black hoodie wrapped around his waist. The man smiled as Patton walked in. Roman only thanked god the man hadn't noticed him yet.
"I said I'd come, kiddo." The man laughed as Patton pulled him in. Roman could see Patton's nose scrunch up before smiling again. "I hope you don't mind I brought some..." Virgil froze up immediately pulling away as his eyes met with Roman. Roman didn't know if he should cower or intimidate. "...friends."
"No." Roman's eyes narrowed as Virgil backed up a bit biting his lip. "Any friends of yours are welcome too. Mi casa es su casa."
