There had never been a time more happier for Ross as the day he had heard Laura Marano say “Yes” to being his girlfriend. He had waited 157 days since the day they met, to make his move.
It was 157 days of bottled up feelings, constant stares, endless smiles, and couple of times drooling at the sight of her that he had suffered through.
At day 5, of just meeting with her for the soon to be hit T.v show “Austin & Ally”. Ross was completely lovestruck. There was not one moment where he didn’t think of Laura, tried to talk to laura, be near laura, or even babble about Laura. As much as he tried to hide it, it had become inevitable that he had developed a crush on her. It only took about 15 minutes of being in a conversation with him, where you knew that he was insanely crushing on her. It obvious to everyone. Well all except one.
There was no denying the on and off set chemistry between the gorgeous pair. But there was a possibility of denying their feelings for one another. The fear of rejection, the possibility of ruining a great friendship, and the doubt of the other ever feeling the same way as each felt invaded their mind and controlled their actions when alone.
Ross lynch was taught to fight for what he loved but the dreaded fear of making a mistake often stopped him from confessing his feelings to his true love. It only took about two days for him to know that Laura Marano was the one. She had been to the one to rob his heart, so hopefully she would do him the honor of stealing his last name.
Fast-Forward to about 2 1/2 years laters, and Ross couldn’t live without a smile on Laura’s face.
There was no limit or boundaries to what he would do for Laura. Canceling a show, traveling to the other side of the country, giving up a solo career, losing an award as best role model because he got into bar fight with some sexist pig who threw money at laura mistaking her for a prostitute, and throwing away his fame. It all meant nothing to him anyway if she wasn’t a part of it. Because without her, death itself seemed glorious.
So today’s the day, today’s the day the black leather box stops burning a hole in his pocket and finally begins to shine on his lady’s finger, at least it will after tonights dinner.
He had been running around all day, trying to perfect every detail of his plan. It might have been created about 22 months ago but he hadn’t forgotten a single detail about how he wanted the night to end. It brought a smile to his face knowing that the small brunnette will no longer be known as Laura Marano anymore but instead she would finally be lynch. Something that he wished she would become the moment the word “Yes” escaped her pink soft lips when she agreed to his girlfriend.
The clock struck 8’ and Ross gave himself one last pep talk in the mirror, thinking about all the great adventures that he would live with his wife after tonight.
The nerves in his body seemed to have increased from the driveway to the front door. He could feel the sweat begin to drip of his forehead, his hands become clammy, and his tongue swell up in his mouth preventing him from speaking. The blood rushed up to his head, making it harder to be a tux. For a slight moment, he felt like turning back but he remembered how much he had dreamed of Laura becoming his wife and eventually the mother of his children. ‘Oh joy’ he thought, imagining himself and Laura holding a baby in their arms, admiring it’s cute features.
He put the key into the doorlock and quietly turned the door knob not wanting for Laura to hear him just yet. He could hear, her favorite series of movie playing in the background Harry Potter none the less. He quickly closed the door without making sound and slowly headed for the living room where he would find his adorable dork mouthing word for word the lines to the movie. He clutched the bouquet of roses closer to his body, trying to make the plastic around it less noisy (if possible).
He tip-toed into the living room smiling at the chance of surprising her with an forgettable night.
And there she was, sweet old Laura Marano. In the living room sitting on the couch, topless, roughly making out with Eric; legs wrapped around his waist.
“Laura.” He choked out, tears beginning to swell up in his eyes, ready to pour out but he held them back.
The mere sight of his beloved girlfriend in hot make-out session with one of her close friends on the couch they had many times cuddled on, said “I love you” and made love on. It broke his heart into a million pieces.
He threw the roses on the floor, letting tears stream down his face.
As his girlfriend, stayed in utter shock of his presence.
“R-Ross.” She stuttered out immediately walking over to him but he backed away. She reached for his hands in an attempt to say something but nothing came out.
“W-Why?” He sobbed out letting his pain pour out as he cried, dropping her hands away from him.
“Baby, Baby let me explain please.” She cried out.
He shook his head not wanting to his an excuse and threw the black box at her. Rapidly, leaving the apartment in complete despair. He heard her call out his name, trying to chase him but he ran and ran as fast as his broken heart could carry him.
It only took a couple minutes for her to process what she had done, what she had thrown away, what she had just lost in a matter of minutes of getting caught up in the moment.
Staring down at the little black box, taking in the engraved words across the diamond ring “Forever & Always”. She fell to her knees, wailing in heartache knowing that it was just now a box of empty promises.
All because she had cheated.
