Razas POV

The day had finally arrived. The nikkah had been arranged at the khan residence. The forest opening had been decorated to perfection. Small gazebos were spread all across the garden that sheltered the tables arranged for guests.

I waited outside with the men while my sisters and aunty went to bring Dua from inside.

The music start playing slowly as she made her way towards her side of the stage. The lehenga dragging behind hr elegantly. Her face hidden from anyone's eyes by the veil that sat on her head. She kept her head down as she made her way towards the stage or most likely me.

Her Ammi helped her sit on the cushions that were set on the stage.

I could see her just a bit through the flower curtain that divided the stage.
I still remember how happy she was on the day of her nikkah with Kashan
I had attended it with Sadaf. Back then we loved each other so much. But now in her place sits Dua Agha Khan. The girl I didn't even think about not even once but fate works in different ways I guess .
The nikkah started with the Molvi reciting some surahs and then it all happened. He asked her.

"Dua Agha Khan bint e Habib Agha Khan kia aapko Raza shoaib bin Azan shoaib haq meher 40 lakh rupay sikka raij ul waqt apne nikkah me qubool hain?" The Molvi asked her.

She nodded her head and her Ammi confirmed her answer. The Molvi asked her thrice and then she signed the papers.

The Molvi then moved to my side.

"Raza shoaib bin Azan shoaib kis aapko Dua Agha Khan bint e Habib Agha Khan haq meher 40 lakh rupay sikka raij ul waqt apne nikkah me qubool hain?" The Molvi asked

"Qubool hai"

The Molvi asked again..

"Qubool hai"

The Molvi asked again and this time I took a few minutes I looked through the veil to see she had shut her eyes really tightly.

"Qubool hai" I answered looking at her all the while.

We both stood up on our places.

The happiness that radiated off of her 9 years ago was no where to be seen. I remember precisely that she couldn't stop smiling back then, she held her head high while accepting the nikkah but now its nowhere in sight. She hasn't raised her head up. Not even once.

"One" the crowd chanted
"Two" just get it done with I would've down something better than this
"Three" the curtain opened or split in the middle.

There she stood completely visible now. Her white lehenga fitted her perfectly. The purple dupatta created a veil on her face.

She lifted her hand inside the veil near her eye. Is she crying? It could be the tears that brides shed on their wedding.

Her hands fisted her lehenga.
Uncle Habib came beside her and took her hand in his.He took my hand in his and placed hers in mine. Her hand as usual cold as ice I held it a bit tightly to stop the shaking of her hand.

She looked at uncle then at me through my veil.

"Raza I have trusted you with my most precious gem. I hope you can take care of her better than I ever could. May Allah shower both of you with his unlimited blessings" uncle concluded with his hands on both of our heads. I don't know about your precious gem but she's just a burden for me that's all.

"Raza bhai lift the veil now. You can now look at her completely" came Mehak's voice.

"Yes bhai go ahead" Rafay my cousin said.

I let go of her hand and reached for the veil. She shut my eyes tightly. When I had successfully lifted her veil she opened her eyes. I looked up into her eyes to find them moist as the red brimming the honey pools with lashes keeping the unshed tears in. She looked away quickly scared of showing too much. Her face easily gave away her sadness. I sat the dupatta back on her head and we headed towards the main stage........

We sat at the stage. Many pictures were taken for which I faked many smiles. The photographers asked us to stand up and we did and then he asked me to pull Dua close and place my hand on her waist.

I did as asked. Dua looked up at me surprised. I didn't know what got over me but I unconsciously kissed her forehead. I let my lips linger there for a while ad then I pulled away and saw her eyes closed but didn't ignore the two tears that slid down her cheeks. Her nose was turning red. Ignoring our surrounding I wiped her tears with my thumb she opened her eyes that were overflowing with unshed tears and as if on cue the sky shed her tears. The rain started pouring down heavily. The voices of people muffled as I lost myself in her sea like deep eyes.

"Raza bring Dua inside along with you we have to get the guest inside" I heard shahzain yelling. I just meekly nodded. The garden cleared out but we both stood there gazing into each others eyes.

"Let's go inside well get soaked more if not" I said leaving her and moving towards the house.

A few steps away I heard her foot steps but not coming close infact going away. I turned around to see her walking away from the house in the forest clearing. Her heels left under the gazebo.

"Dua!!" I called out but she kept on walking away. I followed her deeper in the forest. The rain muffled my footsteps. But she kept going further in the wood...... Where is she going?
