Dua's POV
I walked out of the house and towards the forest in search of myspot that no one exactly knows about, it's hidden away from the public since it's quite deep into the woods no one comes here since its half on our property while the other half isn't quite worth to look at. my eyes wander all around taking in the slightly darkened scenery as I keep my pace slow and steady on the crooked ground. we moved here when I had just gotten out of the hell I called my lovely marriage to give me a change in environment, it did help but I guess a change in scenery isn't what you need every time you're trying not to kill yourself.
following the sound of impatient waves crashing against the bank, I sat down not caring if my white shirt will be ruined by moss and wet soil, the cool breeze brought a nice flush to my face as it brushed the few strands away from my face momentarily before they settled back down. I gazed at the free-flowing waves that reminded me of how strong and merciless they can be at times. The water was clear enough for me to see every rock that covered the bottom of it, every color could be seen.
"Subhanallah" I whispered as I heard birds chirping around me.
The first time I talked my throat felt like sandpaper no one said a word when it came to my past, they knew it all from going through the journal that had been my only companion in the darkness I came from, I didn't say anything when Myra returned the journal to me with tears in her eyes and I looked away from the sympathetic gazes of my family.
"Happy birthday khadija, apni mama ko maaf kardena beta me aap ko bacha nahi saki, me m-majboor thi beta warna mama apni jaan laga deti aap ko bachane ke liye mujhe maaf kardena Allah ta'ala se kehna aapki mama ko sukoon dede"
(happy birthday Khadija, forgive your mama I couldn't save you, I was compelled otherwise mama would've given up her life to save you please forgive me. Request Allah SWT to grant ease to mama)
I said out to Khadija, My Khadija, my baby girl who couldn't even live long enough to see the world, that beast of a father buried his 4-month-old daughter alive why just because bearing children would destroy my figure just because I won't be appealing to any of his customer's eye, every customer I refused, my punishment would double ten folds the last punishment I remember is being thrown off the balcony of the house that I decorated with so much love and passion.
The house that I dreamed to live in until I grew old, the house where I thought I'd live with my daughter, oh how I wished that she would've passed on before being born like the others but it was too late by then. After 2 miscarriages and one forced abortion within a matter of a few months, My little girl was born "A Miracle Baby" as the doctors named her, was born.
"YAA ALLAH BURN KASHAN IN THE DEEPEST PITS OF HELL, YAA ALLAH BRING JUSTICE TO KHADIJA I LEAVE MY CASE IN YOUR HAND INDEED YOUR THE GREATEST OF ALL JUDGES AND YOUR DECISION WOULD BE THE MOST RIGHTFUL" I wanted to yell but my voice was barely an octave above a whisper. I indeed left the case of my past in Allah's court for he is the justest.
