"Zach, I need to take you somewhere." Corbyn stood up and pulled Zach to his feet. He forcefully pulled Zach out the door and to his car.
"What the hell are you doing?" Zach yelled at the boy as they got into the car.
"Taking you someone that I know will recover a memory or two." Corbyn said, driving as fast as he could.
Before long, they were parked in front of a house. The house had a big open yard and a walkway leading to the door. The door was locked, but Corbyn knew where the key was.
Once the door was opened, they stepped in. The house was almost empty, a few decorations were still up fron the past Valentines day at the beginning of that year. Zach scanned the room, seeing picture frames with people in them across the room.
"Is that me and Jack?" Zach pointed at a photo. They were at a carnival, in the ferris wheel with ice cream and funny hats on.
"Yeah. Follow me." Corbyn said, walking up the stairs to 2 closed doors.
Instead of going in the first door, he walked to the second and opened it to what seemed like a bedroom. A desk had a lamp on it which was on, and a desk full of papers and drawings all over it.
"This is where you lived for three and a half years, before the accident. This was your room. You loved to draw, you would wear the craziest clothes and would make me and Daniel dress up and have a party alongside Andrea if he was in town. You loved it. When you turned 15, your mom finally gave you the okay to move in with me and Daniel. You could hold it in. You looked up to us two all the time. Saw us a your older brothers, as a matter of fact." Corbyn recalled, chuckling as he remembered Zach's big smile when he was moving his stuff into his room.
Zach was looking through the stuff that had been left behind and not took back to his old home. A drawing stood out to him the most. A picture of Jack. The date wrote " 10.15.2016 " and had a heart beside it.
"What is this?" Zach asked, feeling a tear roll down his cheek, not noticing that he had started to cry.
"You drew that the week before Jack, Jordan and Nate were coming to stay for a while. Jack accused you of stalking and you refused to admit it, even tho you had looked at his page a lot that week." Corbyn laughed.
"How close was I with Jack. I really want the truth." Zach checked on his words.
"Too close. You knew everything about each other in less than a week, which then broke you two apart. Once you found out he liked the same person, you went mental. You could stand his existence at that point. He tried to fix things with you but you refused his apologies." Corbyn sighed.
"So. Now he hates me. He doesn't want to be my friend because of my stupid mistakes... all I want is to apologize..." Zach cried.
"And that's what he wanted to do that day. But now, even though he misses you a lot, he cant bring himself to forgive himself. If he cant forgive himself, he cant forgive you. He blames himself for you getting hit. He blames himself for Andrea having a failure during surgery. Andrea's mother screamed and yelled at Jack for weeks when he would try to visit Andrea's grave because he caused you to be mad at him. He couldn't handle it. So, Jordan took him back to Pennsylvania. That's when Jack found himself a girlfriend and loved her. She found out about his past from old friends and she broke it off. Jack wants to apologize to you. Just give him the chance to." Corbyn said before walking downstairs and waiting at the car.
Zach cried for several minutes and finally was ready to go home.
