Chapter 40

After that day, when Jack met Zach for the first time in 5 years, Jack went back to the cafe on the days he knew Zach would go.

Jack would just pretend to read and glare at Zach. He was star struck. He couldn't believe he was in front of him.

"Why dont you just take me on a date instead of drooling all over your book." Zach chuckled as he sat in front of him.

"Uhhhh, re..really?" Jack was blushing like crazy as he wiped his chin to see if he was drooling, which he wasn't.

"Sure. Give me your phone." Zach reached for his phone on the table, but Jack grabbed it away before he reached it.

"I can't. I'm sorry." Jack was about to stand up before Zach gave him a sheet of paper.

"Just come pick me up, idiot." Zach laughed.

A few days after Zach saw him at the cafe, Jack finally got the courage to go pick him up.

"You going out or somethin?" Blake asked.

"Y..Yes.. No! Maybe? I don't know..." Jack fumbled with the car keys.

"Are you going out as Joshua Smith?" Blake smirked.

"Might be, possibly, yeah... I am." Jack frowned.

"Well, have fun. Don't do something I wouldn't do!" Blake laughed.

Jack locked the door and left to pick up Zach.

Once he arrived, he felt like it was going to be the biggest mistake of his life. He had a feeling that one of his old friends would be there and would recognize him.

Jack texted him.

<jack: im outside.>
<zach: come in, im not ready>

Jack smacked his forehead. Hes always late... Jack thought.

Jack put his glasses and his beanie on. He made sure his hair was completely cover and his contacts looked in place.

He got out of the care and walked to the door. He made sure to stand up proper and act natural, if that was possible. He knocked on the door a few times, and waited. Finally, someone. Came to the door. It was a toddler.

"ZACH BLUE! WHERE DID YOU GO?!" A woman yelled out before running to the living room. The toddler turned around and saw the woman, then ran.

She made eye contact with Jack and froze. She couldn't move. She was in complete shock. "J...Ja-"

"Joshua!" Zach smiled as he ran down the stairs and hugged the boy.

"Zach!" Jack hugged him back.

"Emma, I'm going out! I'll be back around 11 p.m. tonight!" Zach pulled on his coat and walked with Jack out to his car.

"Jack..." Emma whispered to herself.

Later That Night

"I swear, it had to be Jack. Zach called him Joshua, but I know it was Jack. I could never forget those eyes... He looked so startled when I walked in. It has to be him..." Emma pleaded to Caid and Daniel.

"So, hes back? Why would he change his name to Joshua and go out with Zach? And how is Zach sure hes not Jack? Did it work? Did he forget Jack?" Caid asked Daniel.

"I don't have a clue... If it did work, then that means he's gone from every single memory of Jack. I wonder if Corbyn remembers Jack, too. Who knows what happened to the three of them when, whoever it was, took them. Corbyn has been traumatized ever since and has been stuck in that hospital every time he has one of those episodes..." Daniel grabbed his arm and slouched back into the couch.

"It is definitely a possibility that he was tortured when he was there. Why did they take all three of them when they would just let Zach and Corbyn go to a hospital, especially take them there and just leave them, but keep Jack? Did Jack convince them to let them go or was he a part of it?" Emma asked.

"Well, I mean, did he look beaten?" Caid asked Emma.

"Not really, I mean it's been 5 or so years, Caid! If he was beaten, I doubt it would show now." Emma frowned, just thinking of what might have happened to Jack when he was taken and not took to the hospital like Zach and Corbyn.

"Whoever it was definitely had access into this house. They had to get close enough to put that drug in their drinks. They reported Caden missing a few weeks after the kidnapping and after then Zach and Corbyn where found in the rain at the hospital." Daniel sighed.

"Wasn't there 3 missing persons 5 month after the 3 of the them were taken? Just like Jack, they only found 2 of the boys, and the other was never found. They were bother in 2 different areas though. The other was in Iowa!" Emma was thinking of what they could possibly want of Jack and why they did the same thing with both of the disappearances.

Hello! Your author here, I am sorry there is rarely an update, just I have no clue as of now. But, new updates are being worked out while I am in the middle of a tornado storm so yay, that's fun. Good bye! (As the power just went out lol)
