"Mom?" I sat straight up in my bed, after my dream about Tofino ended, and my surroundings brought back a flood of memories. Everything from the night before came rushing back but I was brought out of my daydream by the awful sound of someone vomiting.
I pressed my ear against the door of the bathroom next to my room.
"Aubrey? Is that you? Are you ok?" I asked knocking softly on the door. I turned the handle but it was locked.
"Mmm – ''
"Do you want me to get you anything?"
"Aarrgghh!" She vomited again.
"Ok, I'm getting you some meds." I said. I quickly put on a bra and jogged downstairs to find the medicine. I found Max and Calvin sitting at the island eating cereal.
"Morning, Celine?" Max eyed me as I rushed into the kitchen looking through the cupboards.
"Oh, morning!"
"Whatcha' looking for?" Calvin asked confused.
"Where's your medicine?"
"Oh, I don't know – Calvin?" Max turned to his brother.
"In the cupboard against that wall, at the top in the purple basket,"
"Thanks!" I said grabbing the purple basket and rummaging through it for nausea pills.
"What's wrong?" Calvin asked coming next to me on the opposite side of the island, putting his bowl in the sink behind me.
"You don't have any pills to take for vomiting, do you?"
"Who's vomiting?"
"Aubrey,"
"Oh, ok. Here," he passed me a box of Pepto-Bismol. "Just give her one." I could smell his shower gel and deodorant.
"Thanks!" I took the box and a glass of water up to Aubrey who was hanging over the toilet. Luckily, she had unlocked the door for me.
"Aubrey, I've got you some pills to take to stop the vomiting and some water, you need to have lots of fluids when you're vomiting." I said handing her a pill and the glass of water. I sat on the floor, against the door.
All she could say was thank you.
After sitting with Aubrey and rubbing her back until she felt better, I went back downstairs to get some water for myself and Connell and Chase had joined Calvin and Max. Max and Connell were sitting on the stools at the island and Chase and Calvin were standing on the far side of the kitchen, leaning against the oven. Chase gave me a small smirk, small enough so no one saw. Connell was wearing his glasses, which actually suited him but you would never picture him as the glasses type.
"What is this? Twins wake up the earliest?" I chuckled, grabbing a glass from the drying rack and turning on the tap.
"Actually, each room gets a set time to wake up in the holidays, so that we don't all fight over bathroom time."
"Clever." I muttered, before taking a sip of my water.
"How's Aubrey?" Calvin asked.
"She should be fine, as long as she doesn't vomit up the pills,"
"What happened to Aubrey?" Connell asked, his eyebrows knitting together.
"She's vomiting pretty badly, you didn't hear her?"
He shook his head.
"Maybe it was The Ringleader's meatloaf last night?"
"I don't know, then how come no one else is vomiting?"
