I woke up lighter and rolled to my other side and saw Chase had left and found Aubrey sleeping peacefully in her bed. I looked at the time on the clock. It was nearly half past nine and Connell had to be at the center at ten.
"Aubrey! Wake up!" She sat up and started panicking.
"What? What?"
"We need to get up and get ready, Connell has to be at the center at ten and it's half nine,"
She quickly got out of bed and hurried into the bathroom.
Shortly after, I went in and freshened up. I showered and washed my face and brushed my teeth before heading back into the room to look for an outfit.
"So?" Aubrey started. She was doing her makeup on the floor in front of the big mirror on the back of the hotel room door. "I came back last night to see you all cozied up with Jigsaw?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
"Oh, I couldn't go to sleep," I felt my cheeks going red.
"Really?"
"Yes! Goodness,"
She laughed.
"He was actually quite good last night,"
She burst out laughing. "I mean his behavior! His behavior!" I knew I was as red as the curtains in the room, which were crimson.
"Ok, ok." She laughed to herself.
Five to ten came around and so did Lillian, knocking on our door, telling us to come downstairs.
We rushed downstairs where Max, Calvin, Sampson and Noah were waiting in the usual spot on the couches. Soon after, Chase, Dale, Emmett, Sawyer and Jackson stepped out of the elevator, followed by Sage, Wesley and finally Connell.
Connell had a bag slung over his shoulder and looked incredibly nervous. He smiled when he saw me and came up to me.
"I'm feeling the pressure now," he whispered out of breath.
"You'll be fine, I hope," I smirked at him and he nudged me before we left the building and headed for the center.
The center was buzzing with people and noise and the woman from yesterday came up to Connell and led him away from us. He quickly waved goodbye before disappearing behind two big double doors.
"Ok, so who wants breakfast?" Lillian turned to us and Noah and Sampson jumped up and down excitedly.
We headed out, in search of a restaurant to have breakfast and found a quaint corner café.
"The competition isn't for another two hours or so, so we can do whatever you guys like," Lillian said taking hold of Aaron's hand, making some of the boys scoff.
After breakfast, Lillian said that we could drive around the city and have some free time for an hour and a half but we had to be back at the hotel by half past twelve so we could get ready to go watch Connell.
Lillian gave Jackson the keys to the van so we got in and started driving without a destination in mind. Eventually, Aubrey pulled out her phone and looked up what to do in Portland.
"Hey! We can go to the Portland Japanese Garden," she said beaming.
"That sounds good, hey guys?" Jackson asked looking at the rest of us in the rearview mirror. The boys nodded so Jackson drove us to the Japanese Gardens where we just wandered around for a bit.
The older boys all led the group with Emmett trailing not far behind. I held back a bit, walking slowly with Aubrey, taking in the pretty plants.
