FEAR OF LOSING YOU

Next morning-Sunday

AR:"Are we going to sit at home all day?"

SHEH:"No way"

LUB:"Wanna go out?"

ARH & SHEH:"Yes."

LUB:"But where?"

SHEH:"Shopping"

ARH & LUB:"Not again yaar."They rolled their eyes.

ZAMI:"Shall we go for shopping today?"

MEH:"I'm in"

ZAMI:"What about you Zak?"

ZAK:"Do I have a choice?Let's go"       Zamina & Mehak hi-fied.

    XYZ MART

LUB:"We hadn't purchased a single thing.But we are roaming for 1 hour"

ARH:"Yes.I'm getting bored."

SHEH:"Ok.Don't cry.Let's go home."

ZAK:"Guys look.Isn't that Arham,Shehed and Luboid?"

MEH:"Yes" They turned to see what Zami was doing,but was shocked by her 'I don't care' behaviour.

MEH:"Shall we go meet them?"

ZAMI:"Why?"

ZAK:"They are our seniors"

ZAMI:"That's in college.Not here.I'm going.What about you two?"  Though Zak & Meh were shocked,they composed themselves and moved out with their shopping bags.

While waiting for cab...

SHEH:"Hey!Isn't that Zakwaan,Zamina and Mehak?"

ARH:"Ofcourse"

LUB:"So what?"  Sheh & Arh was taken aback at his sudden change in behaviour.

ARH:"Nothing.Just that"

LUB:"Let's go"

    Both the trio boarded their respective cabs and went to their destination.But four pairs of eyes failed to notice the single second connection between two pair of eyes.

Monday

College started and day was passing gradually.Time was ticking at a faster pace.Or that's what Zami felt.It was 2.45 p.m.Zami was tensed about the interview.Although Zak and Meh consoled her,she was not in a state to be relaxed.There was just 5 minutes left.She composed herself & went to interview hall.She was the 3rd contestant.Interview was yet to start.

     Sharp at 3.00 p.m,Principal,Luboid and another 2 persons went inside the interview room. Luboid threw an expressionless glance at Zamina & went inside which she ignored.Interview started and first 2 students gave their best.It was Zami's turn. Although she was nervous,she put up a brave front and went inside.The interview went on for 20 minutes with Principal & others asking questions to her and Luboid being a silent spectator.Throughout the interview Zami didn't look at him.

     She too gave her best and was told that results will be given in some time.All were waiting outside.After 10 minutes,everyone came out and said that ADEEL,her senior WAS SELECTED. Zami was happy and confused at the same time.She congratulated Adeel,and everyone left from there.Zami was about to go when Lub stopped her.

LUB:" Happy that you aren't selected?" 

ZAMI:"Ofcourse.Why not?I'm on cloud nine and I'm very happy at the thought that I will be staying away from you" 

LUB:"Good.All the best.Bye"  He left from there with a hidden smile.

ZAMI(Self-talk):"All the best?For what?"  She brushed off those thoughts and went to class.She informed that she wasn't selected to the class and went and sat in her place.She was grinning ear to ear.

MEH:"Are you mad or what?"

ZAMI:"What?Why are you asking like this?"

ZAK:"Then what?You missed the best opportunity and yet you're happy?"

ZAMI(Self-talk):"Only I know how happy I'm to stay away from that Luboid."

     Although it was inaudible,Zak & Meh heard that and passed confusing glances.Day moved gradually with an over chirpy Zami and hell confused & agitated Zak,Meh.

     Months passed with less or no interactions between Zami & Lub.This confused the friends gang of Lub and Zami's.They were unable to figure out what was going on between these two & decided to go with the flow.

One fine day...

  It was 2nd hour going and everyone were chatting.That's when Principal entered.Everyone became silent and attentive.

PRINCI:"Ms.Zamina"   She stood up shocked & confused,Not knowing why she was being called.

ZAMI:"Yes sir"

PRINCI:"Don't be tensed.Relax.I came to inform a good news" That made Zami surprised.

ZAMI:"What news sir?"

PRINCI:"You are being selected as Students' Representative.More or less you will be working with College Chairman." That was a shocking blow for Zamina.

ZAMI:"You mean I'll be working with"  she was cut off.

LUB:"Me"  Everybody's attention turned towards Luboid.Zami visibly gulped,noticed only by Luboid.

PRINCI:"You came?So you carry on.I'll get going"  They shook hands and Principal left.

LUB:"Ms.Khan,come with me.I need to speak to you about your new responsibility" She nodded and both went out.They were outside Zami's classroom now.

LUB:"So Ms.Khan"

ZAMI:"Y..y..yes...s...si...sir".  Luboid raised his eyebrows upon hearing 'sir' from Zami's mouth.

LUB:"Why are you stammering?Where did your confidence go that you had on your interview day?"  That struck something in Zami's mind.

LUB:"You remember the 'All the best' that I said to you on that day?"   Zami just nodded.

LUB:"Now you understand why I said that?"  Zami just stared unable to comprehend anything. Lub looked around and noticed that no one was there.He moved towards Zami & whisphered  in her ear.

LUB:"You thought you escaped from me right?No.Not at all.Now,you are stuck with me for God knows how long."   He smirked at this sentence and  Zami froze at her place.

ZAMI:"You did this purposely?" She whisphered unbelievingly.

     Luboid just winked and started walking away from her,but stopped in his tracks and came back towards her,all the while looking at her.
