FEAR OF LOSING YOU

Evening 6.00 P.M
    Zami found herself standing infront of Lub's home. After a lot of thinking she decided to ring the bell which was not there. She found that weird but brushed off that thought. She knocked his door and waited patiently. Finding no response, she knocked a bit loudly. After few seconds, she heard a gruff "Coming". She whispered "Be Strong" repeatedly to herself. Finally the door opened.

LUB( without seeing who is in front of him): "Arh & Sheh. I am not in a mood to speak with you nor anyone. So please leave. Leave me alone.

ZAMI: "Even me?" Lub smiled to himself.

LUB: " In my grievance,I have  started hearing Zami's voice too" He hit his forehead and chuckled. He was about to close the door but was unable to do so. He lifted his head to see what was stopping him.

   He found Zami preventing him from closing the door. He groaned seeing her. His reaction irked Zami. She slapped on his shoulder to bring him back to reality. Sensing pain, he understood that Zami was INDEED standing infront of him. Shock would be an understatement for Lub. He stood staring at Zami annoying her more.

ZAMI: "Don't you have the habit of inviting guests INTO YOUR HOUSE?" She mocked.

LUB: "Um. Oh. I'm sorry. Please come in" He scratched his head unable to comprehend the happenings around him.

LUB: "Wh... What would you like to have?"

ZAMI: "Water please"

LUB: "Ya. Wait a minute please" He handed her a glass of water.

ZAMI: "Thank you" She returned it back and sat on nearby sofa & motioned him to do the same to which he complied.

LUB: " How are"

ZAMI: "Why didn't you come to college?" Lub was shocked at this question.

LUB: "Sorry. What?"

ZAMI: "I know you heard me clearly"

LUB: "Shall we talk about something else please?" He stood up and turned his back towards her.

ZAMI: "No. I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS Luboid"  Her mentioning of HIS NAME caught his attention. He turned towards her but didn't speak anything.

LUB: "Please" His voice was hoarse.

ZAMI: "Please stop this. Your aloofness. Stop punishing yourself as well as others who care for you"

LUB: "You care for me?" He asked like a little kid. She nodded affirmatively. He gave a heart melting smile AFTER MANY DAYS.

ZAMI: "Why are you doing this? Why are you shutting yourself from others. Allow someone near you so that they could console you and share your thoughts.

LUB: "I don't want anyone. If I wish for someone, they will leave me for sure. After so many days of grievances I got my two precious friends( He smiled slowly) I don't want to lose them at any cost. If they are near to me, I might lose them & I can't afford it. I won't be able to bear that"
  His eyes became teary.

ZAMI: "Why do you think so? Like....   like you would lose them?"

LUB: "Because that's what ALWAYS happened to me. Starting from my ROZY"  Zami's head snapped towards Lub at the mention of his sister  "and till my parents, I've lost everyone in my life. If I ever get close to anyone they will SURELY leave or abandon me"  
       He was completely broken down by now.
Zami didn't know how to console him. She handed him a glass of water which he refused.

ZAMI: "Don't you think this is a BLIND BELIEF?"    She was unable to believe that this MERE STUPID BELIEFS were stopping him from opening up himself and distancing himself from everyone. She wanted him to overcome this NONSENSE & break his shell.

LUB: "This is not belief Zami but the truth. Can't you see that?" He sighed rubbing his hands over his face.

ZAMI: "Really? Can I ask you something?"  He nodded. "How long have you known Arh & Sheh?"

LUB: "They also asked the same question. Now you too?"

ZAMI: "Just answer"

LUB: "4 years"

ZAMI: "So, you've known them quite a long time. Right?"

LUB: "Hmm"

ZAMI: "But, still they are with you. Don't take me wrong. I'm just trying to prove that your belief is wrong. They didn't leave you because they want you and understand you. They want to stand beside you At ALL TIMES. Not only your happy but SAD TIMES TOO. Can't you understand them? Are they asking too much? They want you to just LET THEM NEAR YOU AND BE WITH YOU"

LUB: "But..."

ZAMI: "Wait. First listen to me. Both your Rozy and parents left you because it was destiny and fate of them. YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING. Get this straight into that thick head of yours" 
Lub watched her with tear stricken face while she continued.
    "Look. Nothing that happened years ago was in your hands. Everyone's life is designed and belongs to God. Birth & death are not in anyone's control. We can't interfere in that. So, please stop feeling guilty and stop believing this STUPID THEORY of yours. Ok?"
      She was saying & explaining everything to him LOOKING STRAIGHT INTO HIS EYES. She held his gaze firmly and understood that whatever she said was clearly absorbed by him. She felt relieved. Her eyes softened, but his.....

ZAMI: "Ok then. I should leave now. I hope to see you tomorrow at college & believe that you understood everything I said"

LUB: "But, I L.O.S.T   Y.O.U  History repeated. Isn't it?" 
     His eyes held pain & fear. Zami's heart felt a pang and pain.
