TW> Spanking.
The chase was on. Turner was on the prowl. Maya was a little undone by the time she reached Lucas's place, agitated by the thought that they could be caught any minute. She rang the doorbell. Loud barking startled her. Lucas opened the front door while shewing his three dogs aside.
His face beamed under the glow of the street lamps. "Are we ready for this awesome night? Nice Jeep. Oh...where's Riley?"
Maya blushed. "Thanks, Lucas. Riley couldn't come...We better get this show on the road." She grabbed his hand then pushed him into the car. He hit his head on the door frame.
"Ouch! What's wrong, Maya? You seem...rushed? Frazzled?"
"Oh, I'm fine. I'm just excited to show you my favorite hangout spots. Sorry about your head."
"It's alright..." Lucas sat transfixed on Maya, his dimples enhancing his already luminous face. "We can take our time. There's no rush. It'd be nice to get to know you." He placed a hand on her knee.
Maya let him, but she was tense. This sort of thing normally wouldn't bug her, but she sensed that the night would soon be cut short. She grabbed the steering wheel as Lucas twirled her hair. "We don't have to drive right away, do we? I like this spot." He then brushed the side of her face.
Maya giggled nervously. "I-why don't we go for a walk? Check out the neighborhood? I've heard there's a good chicken place a few doors down." Maya couldn't be seen in that car on that street. This kind of thing wouldn't have been a problem for her dad's generation. They didn't have Google Maps. So...she had to think on her feet.
"Sure, why not." The time was already 10:30pm because of her fiasco at Riley's. She was getting worried. There was a city-wide curfew at 11pm for minors, but of course, the new guy wouldn't know that.
Lucas slowly and cautiously fit his hand inside her hand. Maya didn't mind. She smiled as they walked along the dimly lit sidewalk.
"Lucas." Maya stopped them in their tracks, looked down, and pretended to be fascinated by a rock on the ground.
"Yes?"
Maya, as if there was some kind of gravitational pull that made her do it, veraciously tugged his shirt toward herself.
She looked him dead in the eye. "Just kiss me."
"On the first date? You sure?"
"I haven't been more sure than I am now."
They embraced and enjoyed the moment, but sadly, the moment went as quickly as it came. A bright light shown in their faces. Panic rose up in Maya. She knew this was coming. Busted.
It was a policeman, making his neighborhood rounds, being sure the streets were emptied of kids. It was past 11pm.
"Hi, officer." Lucas said in his kind manner.
"Hello, kids. You know what time it is? It's past your curfew."
"Sorry, officer. I didn't know there was one in this town. I just moved here."
"That's okay, but what excuse do you have, girl?"
"I just lost track of time."
"Well, you go on home. I don't want to see you out this late again, got it?"
"Got it." They said in unison.
"Count this as a warning..." The cop stared them down as he began to walk away.
Maya checked her phone. It had ten voicemails and twenty-three messages, some from Cory and Topanga, some from Riley, some from John, and some from Shawn. Everyone was worried about her. She sighed. "I can't do anything without someone breathing down my spine all the time."
