"Hey everyone! We decided to crash your New Year's shindig with a surprise! Remember Tommy? We just went ahead and adopted him...a little wedding present to us! Yay!" Eric did a happy dance while the rest of the family stood there in shock, surprised to even see Eric back so soon from Hawaii.

"Um...welcome...Tommy? Eric...can I speak to you for a second?" Cory pulled Eric aside. "Bro, I appreciate your...adventurous spirit, but you kind of made a few major life decisions in a few short days. Do you think that's wise?"

"If it makes someone's life better, and my life better, than of course it's a good thing. Just look at Nina's and Tommy's faces...It's priceless. You should be happy for me."

"I am, it's just...Oh, I'm happy for you. Give me a hug, you goon!" Cory swept Eric off his feet, both cheering. Cory then set him down and pushed into the center of the crowd. "Hey everyone! I propose a toast...to new family." Cory raised his sparkling cider toward Eric, Nina, and Tommy who were all brimming with pride. "Now let's have a group hug, shall we?" Everyone joined in except Shawn, who still hadn't recovered from the Christmas fiasco.

"Oh, c'mon, Shawnee. It's New Year's. Let's make them feel like family." Cory lifted Shawn up and dropped him in the middle of the circle. "Alright, everyone, hug away!"

They all squeezed Shawn until he squealed. "Alright, alright. Enough. Thank you...Welcome, Nina and Tommy. Congrats everyone."

"Now, was that so hard?" Cory teased.

"Don't push it, bud." Shawn snapped, jokingly.

Everyone was in a much more jovial mood than before, perhaps due to the drinks and music. While the adults played their drinking games and reminiscenced about the good old days, Maya, Josh, Riley, Lucas, Farkle, and Auggie all played Clue in Riley's bedroom.

"This is so BORING. Why do adults get to have all the fun?" Maya whined.

"Seriously? I have so much blackmail on you, Maya. I suggest you suck it up and play the game." Josh was fed up with her by this point.

"She was just speaking her mind. What's wrong with that? I happen to agree with her." Riley said.

"Me too! Me too!" Auggie bounced around as Josh tried to hold him still in his lap.

"Look, I enjoy hanging around you kids, but man, sometimes you all give me a headache." Josh teased.

"I have an idea! How about we play flashlight tag!" Lucas suggested.

"No. I have a better idea than that...How about we play good old fashioned hide and seek! Josh, why don't you be 'it'?" Maya asserted.

"Fine...we all okay with that?" Josh asked. Everyone agreed. "Okay, I'll start counting...1...2...3...I'm counting to 40...4...5..."

Everyone dispersed throughout the apartment and even outside. Maya grabbed Farkle's t-shirt and dragged him with her. "Shhh...let's ditch this party. I think I have a better place we can hide."

"You seriously want to risk getting caught? I mean, the other night was amazing, but..."

"Oh, don't worry about it. Josh will cover for us. He's cool, remember?"

"Alright...but where will we go?"

"I'm going to take you to a party that is way cooler than any party you've ever heard of." Maya's eyes went wide as she described what it all would entail.

"How are we going to get there, Maya? We don't have licenses."

Maya gave a mischievous look. "Have you ever tried to ride a motorcycle? I know how."
