A hit.

Mando shot Zero in the back of the head as he had a blaster pointed at the child. Lana walked up to the cooing child scooping him into her arms. "I told you we'd be back." She says to him. His little ears perk up as she speaks. Mando comes behind the two, peaking over Lana's shoulder. "Bring him to the pit, I don't want you two down here with Qin."

Mando pilots the ship back to Ran's hanagr. As they land shakily, Mando turns to face her. "The beacon." He states. Lana leans the child into her arm and uses her free arm to grab the beacon from her waistline.

"Stay here." He steps up from his spot, taking a single step to be beside her seat. He gazes down at the Lana and the child taking a deep breath in. Before Lana can say anything, he's gone again.

Soon enough Mando returns to the ship with the money they earned. He found his spot in the pilot chair turning on the controls to leave this shit show of a mission behind them. Mando seemed rushed trying to pilot the Crest out of the range of Ran's hangar.

As they exited the hangar, Lana spotted three ships flying toward them. Tucking the child closer to her chest she becomes worried as every second passes they get closer and closer. "Mando? What are-"

Her words stop as the ships fly right past them, just barely above the ship's engines. Lana's brows furrow, she didn't quite understand, then she realizes, that was his plan was all along with the beacon. She doesn't say another word to him, she just smiles at how truly smart and articulate Mando is. She really was learning from the best.

Just as they've left the hangar, Mando switches the ship into hyperdrive. They had nowhere to go, no jobs to do, and a little bit of money to their name, but most of all, they had each other.

"Mando, I tried to save him." She says. Her statement was out of nowhere, it confused Mando almost. He dropped his head slightly. Lana moved the child slightly in her arms to get him in a comfortable position for him to fall asleep.

"I know you did. What Xi'an did was wrong, I'm sorry I let it happen." He speaks so low, he knows how Lana is in pain right now. For him, Davan would have been another death to hit his conscious, but he saw how it hurt her. He saw that she had seen more innocents die before.

"I let him down, as I let my father down." She states, her sad expression beaming down at the sleeping child.

Mando turns in his chair, scooping the sleeping child gently from her arms, placing him in the seat to allow him to sleep. Mando tilts his head at the child smiling slightly under his helmet. He turns his gaze back to the sadden expression Lana had on her face.

"Let's go rest." Mando states, lifting his body up from the pilot chair he held out a hand for Lana to take. Lana was taken back by his words.
