The big day quickly arrived and Ochaco and I were both beyond excited for it. We got up as my alarm went off, both of us quickly showering and getting ready for the day. My breath hitched as I pulled out my new uniform, gently touching the fabric and allowing myself to have a moment of disbelief. The day is finally here and I cannot wait, my dreams of attending UA had come to fruition and I have a best friend I can share this excitement with.

We both get dressed at the speed of light, slipping leggings on beneath the short skirt and adjusting our ties and jackets. We both grab the bento boxes my aunt packed us, and ate a quick breakfast consisting of rice, and an omelette full of vegetables and some sliced ham. My uncle passes us, running late as he had slept in past his alarm due to the late night he had filling out reports. He ruffles our hair and gives my aunt a kiss, grabbing his breakfast and lunch without a lot of chatting. I look at the time and gasp a bit, school started at 9 am and it was 8:15, we had about a 30 minute commute to the school if everything went smoothly.

"Ochaco-chan, we should probably get going, just to make sure we aren't late to class." She looks at the time and nods, finishing up her breakfast and placing the plates in the sink. We grab our school bags and bid my aunt a farewell before putting on our shoes and heading off towards the metro station. People on the train stared at us in our uniforms, not surprising since the acceptance rate for UA is usually so low and those that do get in are the most prestigious and elite of students.

We both hurry off at our stop and speedily walk to UA, hyper aware of the moments ticking down until the bell rings and classes begin. The door to the classroom is huge and there is already a commotion being made, the uptight blue haired boy is yelling at the unkempt and angry looking blonde boy, talking about disrespect and representing UA properly. I stifle a giggle as I see the green haired boy from the exams approach the door and open it, hesitating as Ochaco and the boy, Tenya Iida, talk to him. I shiver as I sense a grumpy and tired presence behind us, a man in a yellow sleeping bag looking up at us.

"If you are here to make friends you may as well leave, it took you 8 seconds to quiet down.... That is unacceptable." the man goes on as we all take our seats and pay attention to him as he explains that instead of attending orientation we will be going to physical tests, like in school only we have the ability to use our quirks to enhance our scores and abilities. I sigh and follow Ochaco into the locker room to change, donning the blue and white athletic gear, as well as my utility belt.

We head onto the field and stand in an orderly group, the green haired boy, Izuku Midoriya, looking more nervous by the moment. I take a deep breath and calm myself down, easing my nerves and listening to my intuition. You will be fine, no one is getting expelled today. I smile softly and turn my attention back to the tests, they seemed easy enough, especially with all the powerful quirks my classmates have at their disposal.

I ready myself for the tests, using a speed spell to pass the 50 yd dash in 4.5 seconds, one of the fastest beside Iida and the angry boy named Bakugou. I continue competing, using my quirk to the best of my ability through the grip test, long jump, ball throw, repeated side steps, distance run, and toe touches. During the ball throw Aisawa-sensi demonstrated his quirk, stopping Midoriya from breaking his arm with his unusual quirk. I look around and spy Toshinori-sama, carefully watching Midoriya-kun from the side of a building, his blue eyes sparkling with pride for the young boy. My brain quickly out two and two together, I knew of All For One, and how it can be passed on. Midoriya-kun must be the new successor, that's why he gets hurt using his own quirk, he can't control it yet. Surprisingly no one got expelled today and we continued through the schedule of classes, until lunch, when we were released early, due to the first day mainly being for introductions and orientation. I meet up with Ochaco-chan outside, running into Midoriya and Iida who were also on their way to the metro station. I smile as we chat and walk, bringing a good end to the first day. We all ended up exchanging numbers before getting on our respective trains and heading back to our own houses. Surprisingly Midoriya and I live near one another, his stop is the one before mine. I bid him goodbye and smile, getting off the train at my stop and checking my phone to make sure everyone got home safely. When I arrived at my apartment it was empty, my aunt texted me, letting me know that she had lots of work at the hero agency to take care of and that Uncle Kai had to stay late investigating a case. I sigh, letting all my stress from the day leave my body, I change out of my uniform and grab my bluetooth speaker. I pair my phone to the device and play one of my alternative rock playlists, singing along to the familiar songs as I cook myself a simple yet hearty meal. I was singing along to Teenagers by My Chemical Romance when the doorbell rings, making me jump in surprise. I head over to the monitor and look at the video before pressing the intercom button.

"Hello can I help you?" I ask, not recognizing the individual standing outside.

"Yes miss, I have a shipment of boxes for a... Mera Johnson. Is this the correct address?" He asks politely and I open the door smiling at the man.

"Yes sir this is the right address, I can take the boxes." I quickly sign the paper and take the boxes he had unloaded, the last of my things from America finally arriving. I eat my meal and clean up before unpacking my boxes, smiling as my bookshelves and closet become full with my clothes from home. I check my phone and reply to my texts from everyone, yawning as I turn on one of my favorite true crime podcasts and relax on my futon, beginning to doze off and eventually fall asleep to the familiar and comforting sounds.

Boom! Boom! Boom! My dreams once again cause me to wake up in a panic, this time a mix of sweat and tears running down my face as the memories haunt me. I look at the clock and see there is an hour or so till my alarms go off, I sigh and continue to cry, letting all my pent up emotions flow out of me in one rush. My breathing quickens to hyperventilation as my body trembles, a full blown panic attack setting in. My sobbing turns to sniffles and my panic attack subsiding as my phone's alarm goes off. I shut off the alarm and sigh, taking time to meditate and pray in front of my alter, my mind finally calming from the attack and allowing her body to relax. I finally got up and showered, taking her time in getting ready and eating before heading to school.

I get to the classroom a bit early, smiling and waving as everyone enters and chats a bit before getting settled. A spiky red haired boy with sharp teeth walks in, laughing and talking with Kaminari, Zero, and the ever grumpy Bakugou. I smile and wave as the red haired boy sits in the desk to my left, pulling out his books and getting ready for class.

"Hiya! My name is Ejiro Kirishima, it's nice to meet you, you did great in the tests yesterday." He compliments me, giving me a thumbs up and chuckling, a contagious grin on his face.

"It's nice to meet you Kirishima-kun, I'm Kayda, you also did amazing in the exam and quirk assessments yesterday." I beam happily, giggling as Kirishima blushes, his face and ears almost as red as his hair. We continue chatting before Aisawa-sensi walks in, briefly going over our schedules for class and some of the expectations for the class he has. After an hour he leaves and Present Mic walks in with arms full of books, he greets us and begins teaching basic English to the class. Since he knows English is my first language he had me help those that are struggling, I blush as I go from student to student, helping each student as we go along. During the other core classes I started to get frustrated, the teachers writing notes in Japanese on the board, but I'm unable to read or understand them. My grip tightens on my pencil as I grit my teeth and internally curse myself out.

"Hey bro, you look a bit stressed, what's wrong?" He asks softly, leaning over towards me so we can whisper without disturbing the class.

"I-i don't know how to read or write Japanese... so I have no clue what the teachers are writing on the board." I sheepishly admit, blushing hard as Kirishima stares at me in shock. He looks down at his own notebook before smiling, and giving me a thumbs up.

"I got you bro, I'll just repeat what is on the board out loud for you.... Will that work?" He asks, grinning again and holding up his notebook. My eyes water and I smile in relief, noddingg happily.

"Yes, thank you so much Kirishima-kun!" I whisper, a tear of relief rolling down my cheek as he gently claps me on the shoulder and grins even more.

"No problem bro! I can also tutor you and help you learn, it's the manly thing to do." He gives me another thumbs up and wouldn't let me tell him no, saying it wouldn't be an issue at all.
