Virgil POV

"Paste Noirs Retirement Home. Huh, doesn't that mean Black Death in French?" Roman said. I shrugged and walked inside.

Logan had done some research on the past inhabitants of the house, and found a certain one.

Theodosia Fields.

The Lady.

Roman and I walked up to the front desk.

"Hello. We're looking for Theodosia Fields?" Roman asked. The desk clerk looked at us.

"Are you a family member?" She asked. Roman and I exchanged a glance.

"Uh, more like an old family friend." I replied. She looked me up and down and sighed.

"Go ahead, she's in room 4b." She said, waving vaguely to a hallway. Roman mumbled a thanks as I walked towards a door. Hesitantly, I knocked on it and heard a frail voice say come in. Squeezing Roman's hand, I opened the door and came face to face with a familiar person.

"M-Miss Fields?" I stuttered as our eyes met.

"I'm-" She cut me off.

"Virgil Sanders. I remember you....." She mumbled. I exchanged a look of shock with Roman while she continued to speak.

"I knew I was getting old.... But I didn't know that it was my time!" She said, letting out a raspy laugh.

"N-no, you misunderstood. I-I'm not dead Miss Fields. I'm here to talk to you about something." I responded. She looked me up and down and gestured towards a seat next to her.

"Then take a seat. Your lovely husband can take one too if he wants."

"H-how did you know that we are-" Roman started. She waved a hand.

"A mother always knows dear." She said in a gentle tone. He nodded and took a seat. Hesitantly, I sat down next to him.

"Now, would you like to tell me what you'd like to talk about?"

I nodded slightly and took a deep breath.

"I-I'm not dead Miss Fields. I was trapped in the mirror. D-do you remember the night the drunk man tried to...." I trailed off and she nodded.

"Yes..... I remember that." She mumbled.

"That drunk idiot was scared of a flickering light!" She continued, letting out a hoarse laugh. I smiled a bit.

"W-well..... I'm pretty sure I had something to do with that flickering light."

She looked at me and smiled a bit.

"I always thought that there was a ghost in that bathroom...... that they had saved me from him. It's nice to be able to finally see my saviour."

I looked down and tried not to smile.

"T-the man that owned the house before you..... Damien Wilson..... h-he had.... done what that man tried to do to me." I whispered. Miss Fields let out a weak gasp.

"Oh you poor boy....." She breathed.

"W-well. It's nice to have someone come visit me. Ever since my daughter died I've been very lonely."

I nodded slightly and smiled at her.

"I missed you after you moved out....." I said quietly. She smiled and opened her arms for a hug. Holding back tears, I launched myself into her arms.

"I-I missed you so much...." I said through sobs. Miss Fields smiled and gently rubbed my back.

"Well, you're free to come visit me whenever you want. You're basically family at this point." She laughed a bit and loosened her grip on me.

"It was nice seeing you Virgil." She whispered. I dried my tears and smiled a bit.

"It was nice seeing you too Theodosia."
