TW: Panic attack, mention of murder, Slight angst,

WARNING: You will probably scream internally at this chapter.

The lady's daughter often cleaned my mirror.

I hoped she knew how thankful I was.

"You're welcome..."

Virgil POV

Patton plopped down on Roman's bed and Logan opened his laptop.

"Ok, so, names." Patton said. I nodded slowly and tried to remember.

"Well, his name was Damien, I'm pretty sure, though he forced me to call him Deceit." I said. Roman reached out and rubbed my hand in comfort.

"Ok, any other details about him?" Logan asked.

"Yes. He was a war veteran. He was kicked out of the army because he got half of his face blown off." I said, shivering at the thought of the skinless face.

"Oh, you poor baby!" Patton gasped, reaching out to hug me. I flinched away from him and fell onto Roman. He chuckled and rubbed my back.

"Good job, Virge." He whispered.

"Alright. I have a couple results for the name. Could you come and see if any of them are him?" Logan said from Roman's desk. I nodded and walked over to him. Most of the articles were about other people with the same name. But two stood out.

Army Veteran Escapes From Asylum

Army Veteran Convicted Of Murder

I opened the first one.

On Tuesday the 7th, Army Veteran Damien Wilson, more commonly known as Deceit, was found to have escaped from Athens Lunatic Asylum. It is believed that he escaped from an open window. If you encounter him, call for help. He is incredibly dangerous.

I couldn't keep reading. Something had caught my eye.

Underneath was a picture of Damien Wilson. It was him.

I blinked back tears and, with shaky hands, I opened the other article.

Army Veteran Damien Wilson has been convicted of the kidnapping and murder of 16-year old Virgil Sanders. People reported seeing the boy in the windows of an abandoned mansion. Sanders had been missing for 3 years before these sitting were reported. Upon further investigation, authorities found that the house was owned by War Veteran, Damien Wilson. Authorities found clothing belonging to Sanders in the house, but no body was found. Wilson has been sentenced to death as a result.

I couldn't breathe. Virgil Sanders. That was me. It said that he had murdered me. Had he? Was I a ghost?

WAS I EVEN REAL?

I fell to the floor in a dazed panic and clutched my head.

"Virgil? Virgil!" I heard a shout. Something touched my shoulder and I flinched away. He had touched me.

He had broken me.

Something touched my shoulder

"Virgil, just breathe, ok?" A voice said. The voice was warm and loving. Not like his.

"Breathe in for 4 seconds." The voice said again.

I did as I was told.

"Good, good, now, hold for 7 seconds."

I did.

"Good, now, breathe out for 8 seconds." Came the voice. I did, and as I did I felt a pair of arms under me lift me up.

"Good, now keep doing that." Roman.

He started rubbing my hand.

That was the last thing I remember.

~~~{ Time Skip }~~~
When I woke up, there was a body under me. I jumped back in fright and hugged my knees.
"Virgil, you ok?"
It was Roman.
I let out a deep breath and launched myself into his arms.
"R-Ro, please, don't leave me." I breathed. He hugged me in return.
"I'm not going anywhere, alright Vee? You're gonna be stuck with me." He whispered. I chuckled a bit and clutched him tighter. I wasn't going to let go.
~~~{ Time Skip }~~~

Roman and I didn't go to school the next day.

Kathleen had insisted that we stay home after Roman told her what had happened.

We stayed at home and watched movies. Roman insisted that we watched the rest of the Disney movies, which was fine by me. We were in the middle of Mulan when I realised that my head was resting on Roman's shoulder. I thought back to all the nice things he had done for me.

All the times he had calmed me.

All the times he had stood up for me.

All the times he had cared for me.

All the times he had helped me.

He loved me.

I looked up at him to see him gazing down at me with loving eyes.

"I love you." I whispered. His eyes shone as me pulled me closer.

"I love you too, Vee." He said, leaning in to me.
