You might have already noticed that this chapter is a bit longer than my usual with this one having around 5700 words instead of my usual 2100. This is because this is a big goodbye gift to my dearest tbob friend Kylie, or ancientbean on wattpad. She and I have grown quite close and have talked in private for a long time and I have discovered that she is a kind, strong and talented soul that I am more than proud to call my friend. However tomorrow she will leave us for a total of 6 months to pursue her training to get into the military. I am very happy for her that she follows her own path wherever it leads her but it would be a lie if I said that I won't terribly miss her during that time. So I worked really hard to write this chapter since she seemed very excited about this part of the story. So I made this super long update with the intent to give her one more chapter to enjoy before she goes. So to put it more simply, I just want to say that this chapter is dedicated to Kylie.

Emma's pov
---"Rafe?! Is that you?!" He turned around in a shock-like motion, his green eyes snapping to mine and doubled in size.
"Emma?!" I nodded, slightly fighting the urge in me to run away. Seeing him as that wolf was one thing but actually seeing his face was another. I couldn't forget all the things he had done to me despite his efforts to make it up. "H-how did you get here?!" Then it hit me where 'here' was.
"Am I in the world of the dead?" My face turning pale at the thought.
"Yes! What happened?! Did you die?!"
"I don't... think so."
"Oh, thank goodness," he sighed.
"... But I'm not sure." He chewed on his lip, looked at something behind him and gestured me to follow him.
As we fought our way through the hoards of party goers I asked, "What is this all about?"
"What?"
"This. The festival."
"You don't know?"
"Yes, I do know. I just asked that question as a joke."
He chuckled at my sarcasm and explained, "Halloween, as you humans call it, is a big deal for the dead. That's why we don't just celebrate it on the day itself but the whole week beforehand. The magic divide between the two worlds is thinner during this time of year. On the day itself, we can go down and see our loved ones once more, even if they can't see us."
"Were you planning on seeing Kate?"
He had a sad smile on his face and said, "I think it would hurt me more than help." I didn't know how to respond to that but I didn't have to as a familiar voice called Rafe's name.
"Hey, Rafe! Over here!" I followed the voice and saw Wallace. Next to him sat captain Stefano and Rourke. Seeing him there already made my blood boil.
"Don't worry," Rafe comforted me as he saw my angry expression. "He changed."
"Why the hell would he change?!" Rafe shrugged.
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" We reached the little group and Rourke was the first word, which was directed at me.
"... Just wanted to apologize to ya. Know I put you through a lot of trouble. Hope we can start a new."
"Give me one reason to believe you changed," I spat. "And then give me a reason not to punch your face right now."
"I don't even think you can reach his face, Emma," rafe stated and a bunch of chuckles erupted from everyone. Which only made me even redder in the face than I already was.
