"You are a gay disaster."
"You don't say."
Logan was shaking in the corner of the school gym, slowly pacing back and forth, rubber dodgeball in hand. His best friend Roman sat on the floor nearby, assisting him in pondering what had happened the previous period.
~flashback~
"Dude," Roman muttered in Logan's ear, pointing across the room. "Patton just joined the cheer squad."
"So what?" Logan replied. "There's nothing wrong with that."
"I didn't say there was!" Roman flushed bright red. "Quite the opposite actually. His uniform fits him really well. He's such a hottie."
Logan glanced over and noticed that the "hottie" in question was sucking on a bubblegum lollipop and wearing a flower crown. He chuckled.
"He's adorable, to say the least," said Logan finally.
"Hey! He's mine!" Roman fumed. Logan threw his hands in the air.
"Don't worry about it! Really. I've got my eyes on someone else, believe me."
Roman raised his eyebrows. "Oh? And who might this be? You didn't tell me about any—"
"Hello."
The boys' heads snapped up to see a short, pale boy with purple hair and an extremely large hoodie engulfing his entire body. He was holding a large stack of papers.
"Oh hey, Panic at the Everywhere!" exclaimed Roman. "What was your name again?"
The boy looked down, making his bangs cover his eyes.
"Um..."
"Virgil! His name's Virgil," Logan answered before he had a chance to reply. Virgil's cheeks tinged pink, obviously surprised by his enthusiasm. Roman shot a glance at him that read, "What was that?"
"Uhh...yeah, what he said," said Virgil nervously. "Anyway, I was wondering if either of you wanted to help me pass back the test we took on Tuesday."
Logan shot out of his seat and snatched the papers from Virgil's hands. Virgil's eyes widened in shock.
"I'd be willing to assist you, Virgil. I like...paper." Logan drummed his fingers on the stack of tests, as if he had not just pried them from a tiny emo kid's hands.
"Alright," Virgil replied, lowering his now empty hands, "but you could've just said 'yes' or something."
~end of flashback~
"'I like paper?'" Roman mocked. "Seriously, Lo? Like he said, you could have just agreed to help him and taken half the tests, not the entire damn thing."
"I know, I know!" Logan slid down the wall and sat on the cold floor, burying his head in his knees. His dodgeball rolled away.
"What was with that anyway?" asked Roman.
Logan sighed. "I don't know. He's...just so adorable that I...I became overwhelmed. Did you see his eyes? They're so big and brown and beautiful. I believe they are commonly referred to as 'doe eyes.' And his pale skin—he has freckles! I just noticed." He uncovered his face to reveal that he was blushing down to his neck. Roman stared at him blankly.
