*Three Years Later*
"Be careful with that. It took me 6 months to finish it." Koi said, watching the moving people take a statue out the house.
The mover nodded and proceeded towards the moving truck.
"I can't believe you guys are moving to Paris." Donna said, standing to Koi
"Sometimes I can't believe it either. I never thought I would get this far with my art. I almost gave up hope but I'm glad I didn't."
Donna smiled then grabbed her hand.
"Now you'll be spending the next three years in Paris and you and Avery are getting married in September. I'm so happy for you guys."
Koi gripped her hand tightly.
"You know you can still come with us. You don't have to stay here." She raised an eyebrow.
Donna sighed a bit.
"Yeah I know but I don't wanna be too far from Doebi's parents. They're close with the twins and Dontae. They're a big part of their lives."
"I understand that."
Just then, a small curly headed toddler ran up to Donna and tugged at her pant leg.
She turned around and picked her up.
"Hey big girl. I swear Dinah looks more and more like Doebi everyday." Koi gently rubbed the toddler's cheek.
"Nana, where's your sister?"
Dinah pointed her small finger towards the backyard.
"Oh lawwd. What she doin?"
"Her got da waterhose." Dinah replied, putting her fingers into her mouth.
"WATERHOSE?! DAVINA!!" Donna took off running to the backyard.
To her surprise, Davina had turned the waterhose on and was spraying everything in her path.
Koi followed and laughed.
"This child right here. Should call her Davina the menace. She always doin' somethin! Gimme that waterhose Vivi."
Koi quickly took it from her while shaking her head.
Davina looked up at Koi, giggling mischievously.
"She definitely takes after me. My mom said I was a handful as a child. Dinah takes more after Doebi. She's quiet and gentle."
"I'm pretty Dontae is somewhere with Bryson."
"Most likely. They're gonna miss eachother so much. I'm glad they have a brotherly bond."
Koi picked up Davina and wiped her face with her hand.
"You have to come see us at least during the summer."
Donna nodded. "I can try. I'll still be calling you guys every other day to check on you and Bryson."
Avery opened the slide in door and paced into the backyard.
"I was lookin for y'all. They got most of the stuff. Only thing left is those two big dresser and Bryson's bed."
Bryson and Dontae ran into the backyard.
"Donna, you sure you don't wanna come with us?" Avery asked while place her hand on Bryson's head.
"Nahh. I'ma stay here. I need to be close to Doebi's parents."
"You'll still visit us, right Don Don?" Bryson looked at her with a smile.
"Of course. You all are my family. Life leads people to different paths but you all will always be apart of me. I love you guys so much. I couldn't have made it this far without you." Donna started tearing up.
"Awwww no, don't cry!!" Avery hugged her tightly.
Everyone else joined in on the hug.
"So much has changed within three years man. Wow."
"Yeah I know but thankfully for the better. My book is still doing great. I didn't think people would be so interested in a transgender woman that's a single mother of three."
"Times are different. People like raw and real." Avery added, gently rubbing her back.
"Well, I guess we better get going. Have to drive two hours to the airport." Koi broke away from the hug and sighed happily.
"Y'all be safe. Call or text me when you've made it."
They all finished saying their goodbyes. Donna watched as they got into their car and drove out the driveway. She was going to miss having them around but she was happy Koi got the opportunity of a lifetime.
Donna strolled back into the house with her three littles ones and smiled.
If you would've told Donna when she first started transitioning that she was going to be a transgender mother of three, she would've laughed. Her dream was to always be this big time beauty guru but the Universe had other plans for her.
She never heard from Dontae's other mother even again but someone that knows her told Donna that she's a stripper that lives under the name Golden Brooklinn.
Far as dating, Donna isn't seeing anyone. Her main focus are her children and her career. Not a day goes by she doesn't think about Doebi. Sometimes she closes her eyes and picture her smile.
Donna turned on the tv and flipped through the channels until she came across the twins and Dontae's favorite cartoons.
All three of the toddlers climbed up on the couch and cuddled up next to their mother.
Donna smiled to herself.
This was her life now and she wouldn't have it any other way.
