darkness was over the surface of the deep

"Fucking shit," Dabi ran a hand through his hair and kicked another rock as he walked. The sun was starting to set and he still hadn't turned back. "I am acting like a damn child. There is no reason a goody two shoes would be interested in me. I mean, look at me," he gestured to himself even though no one was there to listen to him. "I'm a scar-faced demon who isn't even good at being a demon!" he held his face in his hands and groaned.

"Someone clearly woke up on the wrong side of Hell," a tar-like puddle formed on the ground before Dabi. The words were heard before the figure appeared. Raggedy blue hair, scared eye and lip, and a serious need of lotion bundled together to create the demon.

"Wow, look who it is, chapstick," Dabi crossed his arms.

"That's not my name," Tomura sighed.

"No, you're right, but maybe if I call you that enough times you'll get it through your thick skull to use some chapstick, chapstick," Dabi flicked Tomura's forehead.

"Yeah, okay, whatever you say, aloe vera," Tomura rolled his eyes and brought his hand up to his neck to pick at his scabs. "Are you stuck out here because you're lusting after that angel again?" he asked, scratching more furiously.

"I'm not lusting," Dabi scoffed. "I'm just mildly intrigued. I blame my inner demon for wanting to corrupt his beautiful being but the other half of me screams 'must protect.'"

"You are a fucking demon, aloe vera," Tomura sneered. "Don't forget that."

"How could I forget? When you are so kind as to remind me every three seconds, chapstick," Dabi snapped back.

"Hah? Wanna say that to my face? Asshole," Tomura took a step forward.

"Am I not talking to your face? Dipshit," Dabi took a step forward as well and the two rested their foreheads against each other's glaring intensely.

"Uhm," Izuku appeared from beneath them and slowly rose to get in the middle of their argument. "Sorry to interrupt your odd demon mating ritual but I fixed your car and I thought you should know," Izuku said. His face far too close to Dabi's for comfort and the demon blinked, completely shocked, but refused to move a single muscle.

"Are you okay? You look a bit pale," Izuku managed to get even closer to Dabi's face. Their breaths were thoroughly intermingling and if Izuku uttered a single phrase more... Dabi wouldn't be able to hold himself back from kissing him. "Shouto told me what happened. Do you need a hug? I think you need a hug. I'm just going to hug you, okay?" Izuku wrapped his arms around Dabi and pulled him in close. The demon, unable to respond, looked to Tomura for clarity. The other demon simply shrugged.

"Angel, what are you doing?"

"I thought I made it very clear that I was hugging you. Do you not know what a hug is?" Izuku nuzzled his face in Dabi's chest. His green curls tickling Dabi's skin.

"Ahaha," Dabi shot Tomura a look pleading for help. Tomura smirked and shook his head. He was going to watch Dabi disintegrate right then and there. "You ass," Dabi mouthed to him.

"We spent a good forty days and forty nights in this position. What's got you so confused?" Izuku frowned, looking up at Dabi.

"I'm not mourning anyone this time, angel."

"Well, that may be true, but you're still upset and deserve a good hug or two."

"I think I'm just going to call it a night," Dabi closed his eyes and fell asleep whilst standing. A talent he had for getting out of situations he didn't know how to resolve. Izuku, not sure how to handle this, released his grasp on Dabi for a moment to rest him on the ground. Then, he laid right beside him and resumed position.

"Angels are so strange," Tomura said, looking over to Shouto who was walking towards them.

"You two come too," Izuku grinned. "The more the merrier."

"What?" both Tomura and Shouto dropped their jaws.

"Come on, cuddle bundle, let's go! You two care about this idiot, right? Give him some affection!" His face was too innocent to pass up. Neither demon wanted to let him down. Tomura plopped on the ground on the other side of Dabi and Shouto took the other side of Izuku.

"I swear this is the strangest thing I've ever done in my entire demonic life," Tomura grumbled, clinging to Dabi. His face rested in the crook of the other demon's neck.

"It's oddly satisfying," Shouto's face was by Izuku's neck. He nuzzled up against him, getting cozy. Being this close to Dabi was like sleeping next to a fire. None of them would need a blanket no matter how cold it got.

"Yes, see? We can all have a..." Izuku yawned, "nice little..." he yawned again causing his eyes to water, "nap."

"This angel is far too pure to be hanging around the likes of us," Shouto closed his eyes.

"You may have a point but I am not going to be the one to tell Dabi to get rid of him," Tomura closed his eyes too. Soon all four of them were sleeping soundly under the night sky. Luckily they hadn't decided to sleep in the middle of the road. Good thinking, Izuku, now you won't be run over in the middle of the night. Not that it would injure them anyway...and the road was pretty deserted to begin with...but the point still remains.
