let there be light and there was light

Dabi slammed the door to his car shut and held the basket in his hands. Just a little demon baby in here, nothing to worry about. He looked to the left and then to the right. Nothing to see here. He was just making a delivery. That's all. Just swapping some children. Perfectly normal stuff.

The demon walked into the orphanage. Luckily this wasn't attached to a church so his feet weren't burning. Now, where was that lady he was supposed to meet up with? Walking around at night with sunglasses on wasn't the best form of action. This place wasn't well lit. He'd have to use his snake vision.

Thud

Dabi fell on his ass like a dumbass and his glasses fell off of his face ever so slightly. Izuku? What the fuck? You weren't supposed to be here, let alone walk right into him. There were two baskets on the ground now Dabi hadn't the slightest clue as to which one was the right one. They looked 100% identical. Izuku looked at both and then just picked one up.

"I'm sorry. I was here to stop some demon shindigs and then I just got thrown into helping the birthing process. A couple came. Their car crashed. A whole lot of stuff happened and now I've got to give them their baby. I'm really sorry for running into you-" Izuku blinked. "What are you doing here?"

"I ran into a couple of issues and now I'm delivering a child," he explained, as best as he could. "Who just so happens to be the antichrist," he mumbled. The two stood up with their respective baskets. Neither one knowing for sure if they were holding the right one. "Have you seen a guy around here looking to adopt? He is a mayor or something..."

"Oh, I think in that room over there. Wasn't his name Kai? Right?" Izuku pointed. Dabi nodded and entered the room. The man standing there with a mask over his face and gloves on his hands was far too fucking beautiful for his own good. Dabi nearly dropped the basket. Look at those eyelashes. What gives him the right to look so stunning?

"Is that the child?" his voice was hoarse but still pleasant on the ears.

"Huh? Oh, right," Dabi handed him the basket, hoping to Satan it was the right one.

"Thank you," he grabbed the basket with two of his gloved fingers, not wanting to touch it more than he had to. "I filled out all of the paperwork. Am I good to leave?" Dabi, without a fucking clue as to if he was good or not, just nodded. What did it matter anyway? He watched the pretty man leave with the antichrist.

"Why did they want such a pretty guy to raise that child? He can't be that bad of a person with a face like that," Dabi shook his head. He exited the room to find Izuku swooning over the couple and their daughter.

"Aren't they just so wholesome? Look at her, and her, and him," he grinned.

"Thank you so much for helping us," the father, who hadn't gotten nearly enough sleep, smiled with weary eyes.

"Yes, you're such an angel," the mother grinned.

"This is Shota and Emi, and their daughter Eri," Izuku introduced them.

"You're an adorable family," Dabi smiled as best he could.

"Thank you," the mother cradled Eri in her arms and couldn't cease smiling.

"Let's leave the new family alone for a moment," Dabi grabbed Izuku's shoulder and pushed him out the door. It closed behind them.

"What do you want to talk about? What's going on?" Izuku looked at the door and back to Dabi.

"I have a plan to stop the end of the world but we are going to have to work together," he began.

"We can't do that. You're on your side and I'm on mine," Izuku frowned, shaking his head.

"We can be on our own side. The side that protects humanity."

"That's... not even possible."

"Why not?"

"Do you really think an angel and a demon can take on the entirety of Heaven and Hell together? You're too much of a romantic," Izuku sighed.

"Look, we could at least stand by the antichrist raising him to be a decent human being. The way my side has it figured is that he will be neglected and filled with rage and end up just like every other politician. Corrupt and ready to destroy everything. You and I," he gestured to himself and Izuku, "can watch him grow and with every temptation I do, you can fix it with your angelic influence. He will be a balanced soul and not have an ounce more dark side than any other human."

"Do you really think it could work?" Izuku stared up at him, expectingly.

"It's worth a shot, isn't it?"

"I suppose it's better than nothing. What's the address to this place? And what'll our disguises be? I love disguises," he smiled, fantasizing about the whole thing. You'd think he was in a Bond movie.

"I'll be, uh, a gardener and you can be a nanny?"

"Sounds easy enough," Izuku nodded. "I really hope this works."

"You and me both, angel, you and me both."
