"Are you sure you're okay? You've done nothing but drink since that day a month or two ago and alcohol doesn't even phase you," Tomura placed yet another drink down on the counter. Dabi had barely moved from this spot. If he got up now, you could probably see a well-outlined imprint of his ass on the bar stool.
Dabi grunted in response. If there weren't scars under his eyes already, you'd be able to see heavy bags from the lack of simple rest he was getting. The demons had a little bar they owned together in the human world. Perfectly legal by human standards and conveniently across the street from Izuku's bookstore. Dabi could glance at the store every once and a while from his spot at the bar. Each time he did, he just downed another shot of whatever Tomura gave him.
"You're such a mess, Dabi," Tomura sighed, shaking his head. It didn't matter what he said, Dabi just wasn't agreeable.
"Of course I'm a mess. I was handpicked by Satan herself to lead the antichrist mission and I didn't want anything to do with it!" he growled, crushing the glass with his hand. Shards impaled his fingers, causing him to bleed a bit, but he didn't give a single fuck. He didn't want the world to end, let alone lead that damn mission himself. But here he was, with a key part to play, and he'd have to go to the orphanage next week to swap out the human child with the demon spawn.
The bell on the door rang and an angel walked in. You could tell he was an angel because the dumbass didn't bother to hide his wings. He fumbled through the doorway messing up everything in his path. Dabi, getting more and more annoyed, shot his head up to look at him. His eyes widened a bit at the sight of his wings. Red, discolored. Did this bitch just fall from grace? And had no intention of hiding it? His wings weren't beyond repair so he wasn't committed to the cause and he still decided walking right into a pit of demons was the best move. The audacity.
He scanned the bar and smiled a bit once making eye contact with Dabi. Well, he couldn't make eye contact because of the sunglasses but you know what I mean. He sat down right next to him and introduced himself. "The name is Keigo, but you can call me Hawks."
"Come back when you've officially fallen from grace, dumbass," Dabi downed another drink without taking the shards of glass out of his hand.
"What? I haven't fallen," he laughed.
"Is that so? Then allow me to show you the door," Dabi pointed. This dumbass really thought he could outright lie like that? His wings were fully visible and completely discolored. Why else would they look so strange if he hadn't fallen?
"I dye my wings this color," he explained. "It really keeps the other angels on their toes. No one ever knows which side I'm on. That way I can play both," he made a peace sign with his hands and grinned.
"Why don't you just hide your wings?" Dabi sighed. That was much simpler than dying them a different shade. He didn't quite believe that Hawks dyed his wings though. Was that even possible? Angels didn't invent something so handy. This guy must be a human supporter.
"You can do that?" he gasped, immediately trying. Why were all angels such airheads? He gasped again when it worked and then repeatedly revealed and hid his wings again and again until Dabi shot him a look.
"Right, sorry," he apologized, scratching the side of his face and laughing a bit nervously.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well, Baku-boy just explained to Izuku the contents of his mission and I just happened to hear the whole thing. If the angels are on the move than I imagine the demons are too. I just thought I would warn you that your beloved little Izuku was the one you'd have to deal with."
"Why are you bothering to tell me this?" Dabi looked down at his hand. He hadn't noticed that Tomura was carefully removing the glass shards.
Hawks shrugged. "I just thought you should know? I want to join your side."
Dabi forced a laugh. "You really have fallen."
"No, not the demons. Your side. You two are planning on stopping this whole war between Heaven and Hell, right?"
"You say some pretty weird stuff." Dabi's eyes wandered around the room, looking for people that might've heard this angel's strange words. "Do you honestly think one of the leading demons of Hell could side with humanity? You do realize I'm the son of Satan herself, right?" he growled, putting up a front for the rest of the bar. The demons went about their business like before.
"Right, right," Hawks smiled, tapping his fingers against the counter. He tapped in morse code, something only Dabi ever bothered to learn. If. You. Need. Help. From. An. Angel. That. Isn't. Izuku. I'm. Always. There. "I better take my leave then," he waved and sauntered out.
...
Izuku couldn't believe his ears. Was Bakugo for real right now? "God wants me to do what?"
"Go to the orphanage at this address in about a week. The demons are up to something and you need to stop it from happening. God said so. Directly. I'm sure you know how serious this is when God herself tells us to do some weird shit." Bakugo crossed his arms after shoving the paper in Izuku's hand.
"I'm just going to pop out for a bit," the red-winged angel waved, exiting the room so Bakugo and Izuku could talk to each other better.
"This is ridiculous! I haven't heard from God in a few hundred years and she wants me to go now?" Izuku whined. "I just opened up my bookstore who is going to look after it for me?"
"You're too deep in this undercover shit. Do you realize this bookstore is going to go up in flames with the rest of the planet once the end of the world happens?" Bakugo gestured to all of the books.
"Huh?" Izuku blinked. He hadn't thought about that at all.
"You're such a dumbass." Bakugo sighed, crossing his arms. "I'll look after your goddamn books for you just get this mission over with quickly."
"You're going to be nice to them, right? I don't want a single one of them ruined when I come back. I have no idea how long this is going to take!"
"I know how to fucking take care of books, you idiot!" he snapped.
"Okay," Izuku nodded. "I'll trust you with this then. Thank you, Kacchan," he smiled. Izuku didn't notice the slight redness on his friend's cheeks.
"Just be careful, yeah?"
"Of course!" Izuku replied, completely determined to fulfill his mission.
