come on let us deal wisely with them lest they multiply

"Izuku Midoriya, you have committed a grave sin against Heaven," God, his mother, read him his crime list. "You have defied The Plan and acted with your own judgment. You have utilized Freewill, which is something only the humans were granted with permission to use. It is with much sadness that I must punish you in this way. Your sentence is this: disownment and loss of wings."

Izuku folded his hands over his lap. He was sitting on his knees, listening silently to the words of God. She hadn't always been this way. She used to be loving, caring, considerate. What happened to her over the years? The lack of faith from humans must be changing her mindset. He didn't blame her. He was the one that broke the rules.

The door opened with sounds of screaming angels pouring into the room. A figure, barely even a figure anymore, walked in. The doors slammed shut behind him. His wings, his hands, and now his eyes were all set aflame. He stared God right in the face, without concern of what would happen to him anymore. He'd gotten this far on will alone. Time to get just another inch more out of this body before it turned to ash. He got on his knees and bowed before God, not looking up a second time to stare at her.

"Please spare him," he requested. "It was my idea. I tempted him away from your holy plan. Punish me instead. I more than deserve it. Please spare him," he repeated, impure tears escaping. Partially due to his rising emotions. Partially due to the flames in his eyes.

"The son of Satan dares to plead a bargain with me?" God scoffed.

Dabi took a deep breath. The all-knowing God would see through him if he tried to play the villain. He couldn't bullshit his way out of this one. He could only hope it would go his way. "I'm the King of Hell, bowing before you and pleading for his absolvement. Is that not enough for you?"

"The only way to punish you," God stood up from her throne and pointed to Izuku, "would be to punish him. To kill you would be a mercy, considering your current condition. I will not let you die. I will let you watch as your brother gets discovered and as your beloved gets disowned." God snapped her fingers and the flames dispersed but the wounds remained. Dabi looked up. He made eye contact with Izuku, who smiled ever so slightly.

"Thank you for trying," he held back his tears. "I appreciate it."

"Ange-"

It happened too fast for Dabi to keep up with. In one moment he was about to comfort his darling Izuku. In the next, two beautiful wings ended up on the clouds. Those grand wings, that had saved him from his father, now lay right in front of him. He reached out to touch the feathers, only for them to turn to dust in his hands. Dabi stared, at the sparkling ash, too stunned to speak.

"You will now live among the humans that you dared to save," the cloud opened up, dropping Izuku to Earth. A fate worse than falling from grace. Becoming a demon might be more merciful than the absolute destruction of his connection with God via the destruction of his wings.

"Why?!" Dabi glared at God, filled with more rage than he'd ever felt towards her before.

"Silence," she looked down upon him. His lips immediately closed. "I need not explain myself to the likes of you," she turned, facing her back towards him, and the cloud opened up once again. He fell, for the second time, from Heaven.

As he stared up at the sky, falling to the ground, he realized the only reason for this was because God felt like it. That was the only reason for anything, apparently. She destroyed the whole world before because it became a certain type of way. And now she was destroying her own son because he acted outside of the policy. A warning to other angels to stay in line. Well, fuck that.

"I've never been happier to be a demon," Dabi's lips curved upward into a hideous smirk. "God is such a bitch."

"What the fuck were you thinking?!" the sweet sound of an angry Tomura to the rescue. Dabi was caught by one of his dearly beloved asshole boyfriends and got quite the earful. "You fucking idiot! Flying to Heaven?! Are you trying to get yourself deleted?! And look at the state you're in! Do you want more burn marks? Are you a damned masochist? What the fuck! Look at your wings! Not even wings anymore!"

"I've gotten even uglier," Dabi stared at his hand. It used to be safe from the hideous burns but now it was just as burned as the rest of him. And it was still bleeding. "I think I-" he passed out before he could continue his statement. Tomura held him close, cursing him under his breath as he returned to the bookstore.
