"I think it's about time," the all-knowing mother of the universe adjusted her sleeve and looked out the window. "I'm sensing another revolt." Angels lurked in the shadows of the trees. Were they here to save Izuku? Or to hunt Dabi? She smiled, knowing the true answer and opened the door.
"Did you really think a sneak attack was going to work on me, Hawks? Forget about the small All-Knowing bit in my character?" she chuckled and sat down in front of the door, patting the stair beside her for Hawks to sit.
"I didn't forget anything. I just prefer to be cautious," he scratched the back of his neck and shrugged, walking out from the shadows. "News spread of the little incident with Chronos, but I don't need to tell you that, do I? Angels are getting restless. Demons want a real leader, everything is chaos and it's all thanks to you who sits back and does nothing but play house? Pathetic," he grumbled.
"Are you blaspheming the Lord?" her eyes lit up with a bit of holy rage and Hawks shut his mouth, gritting his teeth.
"You aren't all-powerful," he said.
"Excuse me?"
"You aren't all-powerful," he frowned. "You want us to believe that you are but you aren't. You're just a scam artist."
She stood up, glaring down at him with righteous fire in her eyes, "Would you like to test that theory?"
"I would, but not yet, as you know," Hawks stood up and wiped the dirt off of his ass. "We have to wait for the big leagues to join us. Until then, well, you already know, don't you?" he smirked and went back to his position in the shadows of the trees.
...
Tomura had been living his life in peaceful denial with Overhaul and the family of three. Shota was a Big Fucking Mood at all times and Shinso was just plain adorable. Oh, yeah, Eri too, but Shinso was better. Tomura didn't have a lot of appreciation for children but Shinso? Yeah, he is cool.
"What's got you all bent out of shape?" Shinso plopped down in the seat next to Tomura. "I made you that beautiful cup of coffee and you're letting it go cold," he frowned. "Instead you're staring off into space and scratching your neck until the skin falls off."
"Something is wrong."
"No shit, really?" Shinso rolled his eyes. "I'm sitting here concerned for your well-being and you mean to tell me I'm right to be concerned? Wow. Thank you, Captain Obvious, now spill your issues. Or, do demons prefer to keep everything bottled up?"
Tomura shot him a glare. "We do, actually, but I need to sort out my thoughts."
"I'm all ears, buddy," Shinso shrugged. "Not that I can provide much assistance...you know, human and all...I'm not even the antichrist to solve your problems," he snickered. Tomura smiled slightly, enjoying the humor.
"It's too peaceful here," Tomura lowered his hand from his neck and finally grabbed the cup of pure dark soul.
"Is that really an issue? We're kind of here because it's peaceful."
"You have a routine, and that's nice, but that's not the issue. There is no one after us, no one trying to kill us, no one blackmailing us, and that's ominous..."
"Again, not really sure I'm following why this is a problem."
"It's the calm before the storm," Tomura stared into his coffee. "Dabi was targetted with that broccoli haired angel weirdo. Overhaul got sent his past to face...so what's going to happen to me? I keep thinking and thinking and I just can't figure out what the bastard upstairs wants to do with me." The more he stared into the coffee the more he became unsettled by the endless abyss of sugarless substance.
