I'm back baby

Tom Pov:
Of course now that my "sick day" is over, I have to go back to getting up at 6:30 am every fucking morning. Of course I still feel pretty sore, but the pain has mostly gone away.
Luckily, Tord didn't come this morning, so I woke up in peace by the sound of a regular alarm clock instead of a banging at my door that has no snooze.
My usual routine for being a commander is to have breakfast, which I might skip today since I'm not hungry and I don't want to put up with the generals shit.
Then next to go is to check up on all the stations since Mondays I have that job in the morning, it takes forever since the base is three floors of pure hallway and station, that usually takes most of the day.
Later in the day, Paul takes some time off, so I have to follow Tord around for a hour or two since I become a temporary second in command, smart guys need breaks too after all.
Then I'm usually set for the day, I'll tell you, this is so much more work than at the Rebellion. At the Rebellion everyone knows how to take care of themselves and the base isn't terribly huge like the Red Army base, it's easy to manage there and there's a lot of free time unlike this place.
My least favorite part is having to be second in command for those few hours, for me dealing with Tord is harder than running around the whole base in one day. I just... I just hate that guy so much...
Tord Pov:
*5:00 pm*
I took Tom into a commander meeting since he's technically a commander, usually in these meetings we talk about the plans for the next attack we have on the Rebellion or against a country's army.
I know, Tom shouldn't be in a meeting that talks about how to attack his own people, but it's not like he can contact them to let them know what's happening anyway. He's on my side now, even though he obviously hates it.
"In these general areas is their weak spot," I say and tap each area on the map of the Rebellion base with my pointing stick, I point the pointing stick in the area behind the Rebellion base. "Here," I then place the pointing stick on the roof of the Rebellion base. "Here," I finally trace a circle around the base, signifying under the base. "And here, underground."
As I continue to talk about the base's weak points and possible attacks, I can't help but glance over at Tom. He's leaning against the wall and he has a rather calm look on his face, it's surprising he's so calm since he seems rather focused on the map and the information I'm telling all the higher ups and usually hearing this stuff would agitate him.
I see a hand raised, so I look toward the person to see it's General Demetrix. He asks, "Permission to speak Sir?"
"Permission granted," I respond.
"Since General Thomas used to be in the Rebellion, shouldn't we be taking information about the place from him? You know, since he knows more about the place then we could ever know in a million years," General Demetrix asks and and a lot of whispered commotion starts in the room. Every seems to be agreeing besides Tom, who really just stands there silently and gives a expressionless look.
"Enough," I say to the crowd of people who are chattering, they all go silent. "I won't be taking plans from someone who could possibly give false information, we all know General Thomas isn't completely on our side yet and he could pass off some information to us that'll foil our attacks."
Tom looks at me with a continuous blank stare, he acts as if he's completely deaf. I look to General Heath, who raises his hand and asks, "Permission to speak Red Leader?"
"Permission granted," I reply and sigh.
General Heath then asks, "Didn't you say you trust General Thomas with your life, so why would he give false information that could possibly end your life?" Everyone in the room then looks to me with questionable looks, god I feel uncomfortably on the spot right now.
"Well..." I begin then look down, why did I say that? There's no way Tom could possibly be fully on my side, which means he definitely wouldn't take a bullet for me.. So why do I trust him so much?
I go to respond, but then Tom interrupts me, "Okay, can we all stop being Red Leader's paparazzi and just focus on planning? I know I've only been at these meetings once, but I know that questioning your leader on things isn't apart of the routine," Tom stands up straight and glares at the crowd, I can sense that everyone is quite petrified of his face right now. "I may not have been here the longest," Tom then turns to me. "but the Red Leader I know would've already shot you all in the head already for questioning him," Tom rolls his eyes. "But you never know, maybe Red Leader has just gone soft."
Soft? SOFT?! I couldn't have gone soft! No way! But Tom has a point.. why haven't I at least threatened them by now? Usually I'm the hard type, not the type to question myself over people who should be listening to what I say the first time's words.
"I have not gone soft Commander Thomas," I say to Tom with a glare, which he just returns the glare.
"Then how about you just prove it already and start the attack," Tom leans against the wall again and his glare deepens. "I dare you." I feel shiver go up my spine.
"Maybe I will," I respond as my glare depends as well, everyone in the room is silent as Tom and I glare at each other.
Patryk then interrupts the silence by saying, "I can schedule the attack for tomorrow at noon Sir, our soldiers should be done with training and prepared by then."
I look to Patryk and nod as I say, "You do that
