Verity's POV

"Come to think of it, we've never seen Missy dance since becoming friends with you," is what Daniel said. That's why me and Missy decided to invite them to her Christmas recital. Missy will be dancing to music from Don Quixote. After all, it's really the first time Lucas and Daniel will get to see Missy dance, which is strange considering the fact that we've been friends for over a year and Missy spends a huge part of her time dancing. I know they will love it.

The recital is scheduled on the last day before Lucas leaves to Austin Texas to spend Christmas there with his family. Daniel is due to go to Wichita Falls soon as well. So after the recital, we will spend some time together to give each other our Christmas presents. I still can't get used to the fact that now, we actually have people to share the Christmas atmosphere with.

Not that I overly enjoy Chritmas but I'm starting to see its charm.

Today is also the last day before I get really busy. It's always like that during the Christmas season. There are too many aerial performances to count, sometimes a wedding here and there and a bunch of other events for me to play the violin at, figure skating and some singing performances as well. So overall, I won't be having much free time in a while. Except for the Christmas day itself, the day I'd like to keep myself busy the most. Except I would hate to leave Missy alone.

We sit in the first row of seats and wait for the recital to start. Missy will have the last ballet solo, so we have to wait for her turn as well.

When she does go on stage, I feel really happy for her. She's so talented and everyone is bound to notice that after watching her. I take a quick glance at Daniel to assess his reaction and I see that his eyes shine when he watches her. Finally, the music starts and we get to see her dance.

She is amazing as always and she gets a positive response from the audience but I think it's the three of us who cheer the loudest. She smiles in appreciation of the support.

After a few moments, she rejoins us, already in her normal clothes. She's radiating excitement and joy. "How was it?" she asks excitedly.

I give her a hug, "You were amazing as always."

"I can't believe I didn't see you dancing until today. I have missed out on so much," I hear Daniel mumble. It's clear that Missy hears him because she looks even happier.

"Where are we off to now?" Missy asks curiously as we left the planning on Lucas and Daniel.

"To Central Park," Lucas answers. "But if there is somewhere else you'd rather go, that's okay," he adds quickly.

"Not at all," I answer with a smile. I love the Central Park during winter.

There isn't usually much snow during December but it is uncharacteristically cold this winter. Once we step out, there is snow everywhere.

We take the train to Central Park and decide to take a walk. Everywhere I look, there are people smiling and looking excited. The joy of Christmas is in the air. That's about the only thing I like about Christmas. Watching those people.

Lucas' POV

As soon as we get to the Central Park, Verity increases her pace and watches everything around her with her eyes glimmering. I rush up to her to be closer to her and be able to talk to her while Missy and Daniel stay a bit behind, walking slower.
