The black haired girl pulled her hair into a bun. She sighs and proceeds with stuffing her books into her duffel bag. Her grey eyes shone with dullness as she saw a couple at the end of the hallway, kissing the fool out of them-self.

They should be teaching the rule of public privacy at schools instead of teaching students about the lithosphere, she thought to herself.

She tossed her duffel bag behind her shoulder and walked away from her locker.

Students were walking and swarming around like bees, walking here and there, chatting with their friends, the cool kids gather round in one spot and the cheerleaders came into view, the blinding colored pom-poms rustling in their hands with their too short skirts hanging on their hips.

Ah, the usual shit. The usual -high school shit.

Now, now. Don't expect that she'll be eyeing on the cute guy that leans on the sets of lockers. Nope. Don't ever think that'll happen anytime sooner.

She walked past the crowd and go straight to the door. She went to the parking lot, and went straight to her modest blue bike. She reached to her pocket to grab her key to unlock the lock that secure the bike, but to her surprise, she doesn't found any key in her pocket. She searched her bags, her other pockets, her bag's pocket,

Then she heard a clinging sound coming from her back. She turns around and found a brown haired girl throwing her keys to the air and catching it again.

"Damn it, Cindy. Do you know how long does it take to search that key?" She paused. "And for the fourth time today, no, I don't want to come to that silly party thing"

The girl formed a fake pout. "But Laury, please, I beg you." She pleaded. "We'll have a lot of fun there!" She moved closer to Lauren and said "And even Dane would be there too". She said it with a high pitch note at the end, as if to tease her about her past interest towards Dane.

Lauren glared at her friend. "It's in the past, Cindy. I don't have any interest towards him anymore" She said with a flat expression.

Cindy sighed. "Well, there'll be other cute guys you can lay your heart on." She paused "I mean, Ren, the whole school were invited to the party, and you're probably the only one that doesn't come.

"So please," she said it for the last time. "Would you kindly accept my fifth invite and accompany me to Jaden's house this evening?" she gave her a fake pout.

Lauren sighed at her friend stubbornness. "Sorry, Cin. But I really gotta go." She extended her hand to Cindy, waiting to get her keys back. Cindy formed a frown on her face and gave the keys to Lauren's hand.

Lauren unlocked her bicycle lock and turned to friend. "Have fun tonight" She said with a smile "And go easy on the boys."

And with that, she ride her way home.

"Hey, dad" Lauren said with a smile. She put down her duffel bag and sits with her father on their old rusty couch. "Hey, kiddo", her dad turned to looked at her, the hint of black under his eyes showed how tired he is. "How's school?" her father asked. "It was...okay" she answered back.

"I heard from the lady next door that 'the party of the month' will be held one block away from here. Don't you wanna come and hang out with your friends? " her dad asked. A hint of fatigue laced in his voice. "Go back before ten. I'll tell your boss you got some project or something. He'll understand."

"Dad" Lauren said sternly. "I don't want to waste my time hanging out with people that I disliked. I rather work my bum off "

Her dad chuckles at her daughter's persistent attitude. "Okay, kid. Whatever you say." He said with a smile.

"Have a pannacotta would you? I saved one before your brother could eat it all."

"Hey! I did not!" said a 7 years-old boy. His ruffled hair and his muddy soccer t-shirt came to view.

"Well you almost eat it all. Good thing I stopped you mid-eating."

She washed the dishes and went straight to her bedroom. She sat and begin to work on her biology homework, grumbles at a few questions, but keep on doing it. She can't fail another test. If she does, her scholarship would be revoked. And that's the last thing she wanted.

She finally gave up and closed her biology book. She went straight to bath. As the cold water stream down her face, her other mind is telling her things.

Her mind flooded with her past memories with Dane. The glances she secretly does.

But then another memories crossed her mind.

Him. Laughing with his friends, pointing at her. Her face as hot as the underworld and her insides are boiling of anger.

Him.

She grumbled and kick his face in her imagination a few times. Just the thought of him makes her angry.

Now its in the past, Lauren. It's okay. No one remembers it anymore.
