Another week had passed, and another and another, it had been two months since I'd moved to Heartlands, admittedly, I'm enjoying myself, getting to know my friends, keeping up with Rome, and Calvin staying away, I feel a weird sensation, lighthearted, I have a routine, and a good one too, not one revolving around drinking, doing drugs, partying and drinking, I don't know that I missed this sorta life, but I guess you can't miss what you don't have can you?
I sit on my bed and read my book with my earphones in my ear, my waves let down carelessly, and I'm wearing an oversized shirt and shorts, as I fall in deeper into my reading session, I think I hear a knock, on the window.
I pause my music and wait... Knock knock...
Gathering my confidence I prepare myself for fight or flight and slowly step up to the window, opening the blinds.
I feel myself relax as I see Calvin standing on the balcony, looking flawless as usual, a leather jacket and a white shirt underneath, with ripped jeans, his hair... messier than usual, and if you look closely at his shirt... is that.... blood?
I know I shouldn't open the door, that he's dangerous, but I do anyways, and we stay there in silence, watching as always.
He takes a step in and I take a step back into my bedroom, I notice that he winces ever-so slightly,
'Calvin?' I ask, "What are you doing here?"
"Let's pretend, for just one night." His voice echoes in my head.
I take in a breath then go to remove his jacket, revealing bruises and blood all over his shirt and chest.
My eyes widen as I lightly touch the wounds, one by one, I shouldn't care, but I think I might. He smirks as he sees the terror mirrored on my face.
'You should see the other guy,'
Shaking my head, I pull him towards the bathroom.
'Go there, take off your shirt,' I order, pointing to the the counter as I reach up on my tip toes to grab the first aid kit, I saw. He goes to try to help to which I push him away, 'Stop,' and jump to grab the first aid kit, not wanting him to hurt anymore.
I move awkwardly between his legs and start to care for his wounds scattered across his hard tattooed chest, all the meanwhile he stares at me, with an expression that I cannot identify.
'You weren't meant to be you,' He whispers underneath his breath quietly.
'What?' I ask, looking up at his gaze, but he doesn't reply, so I slowly continue to help him.
As I finish off, I feel his rough hands touch my jaw lightly and pull my chin up, I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, but before I know it, his lips touch mine. Not filled with fury and anger like the other times but with a bittersweet passion, as though he's trying to tell me something.
He tucks my hair behind my ear and pulls me in closer, our tongues dancing, sparks flying on my lips, but I know, I don't know how, but I know, and so does he, that what is happening cannot be forever, this messed up hatred and passion for each other, these kisses, these moments, these sparks, cannot last.
I try push away, but in turn he pulls me closer and I don't protest, he touches the back of my thigh and my legs wrap around his waist, not breaking the kiss, and moves to the bedroom laying me on the bed.
Hovering over me, he watches me again, as though he wants to tell me something, desperately, his lips connect with mine again and our chests touch, we lay there kissing, touching, yearning for each other.

I lay on his chest, my lips puffy from the make-out session, and watch the moon glisten through the balcony, which we'd left open.
'Why do you hate me?' I ask again 'I haven't done anything to you, for the first time, in a long time, I'm starting to get my life together, starting to live not survive, I didn't choose to come here, I didn't choose to live across the street from you, but all I wanted was to have the chance to feel alive again, nothing you can do will break me, you can't break something that is already in pieces,' I look up at his grey eyes. 'But what have I done to make you resent me so much-?'
'Let me tell you a story,' He says, and I roll my eyes.
"I'm being serious,'
'Once upon a time, there was a princess, who lived in a castle, ever so beautiful, ever so kind, ever so innocent, cared for everyone with her whole heart, a light in the dark,'
I wait intently.
"She lived in a castle of ever so nice people, except one demon.'
'She waited, for her knight in shining armour to save her from the castle, and...'
'She thought she found him, but there were fences so high, neither could climb, fences put up by the demon and by her knight, for the knight was also bad.'
'But she loved him, loved him to death, and when the demon forced the princess back into the castle, and the knight found someone else, she lost.'
'Lost what?' I whisper.
'The battle of life,'
