After catching my breath, I put on the ugly pink clothes he shoved in my hands.

It covers the purple bruises scattered across my arms, back and torso.

I look in the small mirror hung in the room, and tears spring from my eyes again at the state I am in.

Why Mum? Why...?

I turn to the box of stuff, opening it delicately, how mum had shown me to open presents.
Inside was loads and loads of toys, old and new, every child's dream, yet I couldn't play with any of them.

I neatly place them around the whole room, Miss Campbell will definitely believe I'm happy. He's won.

'Blair, dear, come down, Miss Campbell is here!' I hear him call. I make a quick prayer to hope that she'll save me.

I walk down the stairs, my expression being a difficult one, I've never been a good liar, I've never needed to lie.

He reaches an arm and placed it round my back as I go downstairs.

'Hello Blair, how are you?' Miss Campbell asks.

I nod in reply.

'Let's go into the living room.' He smiles, his hand firmly on my back, showing his dominance.

'Great.' Miss Campbell smiles, checking her clipboard.

'Do you like it here Blair, dear?' She asks me.

I hesitate and contemplate telling the truth, I stay quiet for what seems like forever, until I feel a painful grasp on my hand, I look up at his burning gaze.

'Yes, I like it very much.'

They start to talk about adulty stuff and I let my gaze wonder to the kitchen, it is pristine in comparison to the state it was, but if I can focus, blood stains of my wounds that hurt every time I breath or move in the slightest.

'Blair, sweetheart, Ms Campbell and I are gonna take a quick look at your bedroom, kay?' He smiles.

I nod.

They make their way upstairs and I cry internally not letting tears out of my eyes.
