You stood on the empty ship staring over the water. Your father, Floki built these ships and they were often your place of comfort.
Footsteps on the wet grass drew your attention as you turned your head to see your husband.
"Ubbe." you said as a smile drew across your face. He joined you, pressing his face into your neck and inhaling the mist from the bay.
"Ubbe the Gods have looked upon us." you said turning to him with a smile. He cocked his head a bit to the side, curious.
"I am with child." you said almost in a whisper. Ubbe pulled back to look at you better. He concentrated in your eyes.
"Really?" his voice was calm and steady but his heart raced through the gaze he held with you. You allowed your head to nod a bit.
He wrapped his arms around you, muttering small nothings of luckiness and love for you and your child.
When he pulled back, tears brimmed his eyes and his smile was wide. There was something about the way he was joyful that melted your heart.
He placed a hand on your stomach, "I cannot wait to meet you."
