Narrator pov

Ava and miles sat in the back while floras head rested on the door; still asleep

Miles head laid on avas chest as he shook; knowing he was angering quint

Ava ran her fingers through his hair trying to calm him down

"It's okay, remember we'll be back, miles" Ava whispered softly in the boys ear while Nicole drove out of the long driveway

"I'm sorry" miles whispered "for making a scene" he added and Ava shook her head while wiping his tears off his face "it's fine miles, the best thing is that you're out of the house and we're still safe" she said and he slowly nodded and she sighed while closing her eyes

She was glad about the thought of leaving, but she wasn't glad about how miles
changed, it was a weird feeling, she never seen him cry badly, she felt special in a way

Her hands still softly ran through his hair as her eyes started closing; and so did the boys eyes

The were both halfway asleep but all they could do is think about what went on it that room before they left

The kids got into the house; meeting Ava and Nicole's parents

The girls parents were so welcoming especially after hearing that there parents past away, they wanted there home to feel like home for miles and flora

They situated sleeping position

Flora and Ava in avas bed while miles slept on the air mattress in avas room

Ava had the second biggest room due to Nicole being nice and letting her take it and miles sleeping in her room wasn't a problem with her, she was glad he was in the room with her, she knew he would need some comforting after the event that happened

Soon everyone's eyes closed; off to sleep

Well not everyone, miles eyes remained looking at the ceiling; it was pitch black

All he could think of was how angry quint could be at this moment

He couldn't go to sleep, everything was feeling off for him

On the other hand it was the opposite for Ava, she missed home, she could finally sleep

She felt comfortable than ever

Flora was happy, she didn't complain, she wanted to be in a new home

The next morning

Ava and Nicole's parents were off to work early

Ava was sad that she barely got to talk to her parents but she was just glad to be back home

"How'd you guys sleep?" Nicole asked miles and flora "good, I love avas bed" flora said making the girls laugh "miles?" Nicole asked "fine" he said and Ava sighed knowing it was a lie

She grabbed his hand under the table and softly rubbed it

He kept a straight face not really caring, he did deep down inside, but he just wasn't showing it

Ava let go making miles' hand drop to his side

She was very upset for him, she didn't even care about what happened last night all she could care about was miles and his feelings

"It's fine, we'll be here for 3 more days" Nicole said and flora nodded "can we do something fun today?" Flora asked "Yea, we should like have a picnic-at the park?" Ava asked

"Sure, but you have to help make the food" Nicole said and Ava nodded "you down miles?" Ava asked and he shrugged his shoulders making Ava sigh and look down "he's down" Nicole said while patting her sisters shoulder and she nodded

She felt bad for taking miles away from his home, but she wanted to be home too

They were all sitting in the grass; on top of a cover

They were happy, well the girls were, miles had no expression "hey can I go to the park?" Flora asked and Nicole nodded "I'll come, these 2 need to talk" Nicole said referring to miles and Ava

Both watched as Nicole and Flora walked over to the park

It was just quiet

"I know how you feel, miles...I know its hard, I felt the same way when I got to your house" Ava explained and miles looked over at her "but it'll get better" the girls added "I'm sorry for everything" he said looking breaking their eye contact

"I didn't mean to hurt you, ever" he said and she nodded while grabbing his hand for the second time today

"It's fine, look where we are now" Ava said and miles shook his head "it's never going to get better" he says and Ava sighed "yes it will, miles" she said

She soon looked up to see her ex approaching her, she was super confused, it all felt like a dream to her

She didn't know that he would just pop up or would even be at park; creepily by himself

"Well look who it is, Ava Matthews" John spoke "what do you want?" She snapped "you" he said then his eyes shot up to miles "who's this weird guy?" He asked "he's not weird, and why are you bothering me?" Ava asked trying not to show how intimidated she was

"Well you are my ex, and I could always get you back, so that's what I'm doing" he said with a smirk "you can't get me back, john, I'm not a fucking toy-and how did you even find me?" she snapped standing up but still John towered over her "what are you gonna do about it?" He said while walking closer to her and she stumbled back

She then felt an arm around her waist "she's not going to do something but I will" miles said while pulling her back behind him

John and miles were head to head, they were exactly the same height

"And you are?" He asked "her boyfriend" miles snapped
