Narrator pov

As flora still laid on Avas chest while sleeping Ava was texting her mom asking how the trip was going

She said that it was going horrible than she thought, Ava felt bad but didn't really want to because she made her stay here

It was 2 in the morning when Ava heard the front door open

She knew the 2 would get back late, but not this late

Ava couldn't get up because flora was laying on her and she didn't want to wake the little girl

She stayed in her bed listening carefully to Nicole yelled at miles

"I told you not to drink a lot miles, you're underage, I was trying to be nice knowing that you and Ava broke up...but you're taking it too far" Nicole's said and Ava closed her eyes while sighing

Her door than opened seeing her sister hold miles as his eyes were slightly open and he fell around; not being able to control himself

"Help me" she said "Nicole, no I can't, can't you see flora on me!" She whispered yelled "move her to the side, please just help me" Nicole said

Ava could tell that her sister was sober, I mean that's how the got here anyway

Ava sighed while slowly taking flora off of her and putting her underneath the cover

She then got up and helped carry miles into his room

"Thanks" Nicole said and she walked out Ava was in her way out until mikes grabbed her wrist "stay" he said and Ava sighed "miles, I have to get to bed and your sisters needs me, I promised not to leave her" I said and he glared "miles you were going to regret it when you wake up anyway" she said and she walked out

She headed to her sisters room nervously and knocked on her door

Nicole opened it looking tired "yes?" She said "I have to talk...real quick" She said and Nicole sighed "can't we talk about this later?" She asked "no" Ava said while pushing her aside and walking towards her bed and sat on it

"What do you want?" Nicole asked "ok..flora asked where her mom was...I got a little sad for her and like she asked me not to leave her, she doesn't want to stay here, nic" She said and Nicole furrowed her eyebrows "so what are you saying?" Nicole asked "I don't know...I just want-her to be...you know like a normal girl, that has friends her age, and has a pretty pink room-not a dark one with plain cream yellow looking walls" Ava said and she looked down

"I know, but we can't just take her with us, and even if we did where would miles go?" She asked "you need an apartment" Ava said "aves, this is too much to think of, you're 16 and I'm 18...we really don't need to be talking about buying an apartment" Nicole said "yes we do, especially you, do you know how many 18 year olds moved out of the house?" Ava asked "it doesn't matter, Ava you're making yourself feel bad for her! You can't help what so ever" Nicole said

"Yes I could! Nicole, even you can! just grow the fuck up and move out then we can help these kids start a normal life, they've been in this dark hell hole for their whole life! They didn't even know what the mall was for gods sake!" Ava snapped at the sister "then how about you get an apartment and help them!" Nicole yelled and Nicole mouth closed once she looked behind Ava

"You know what, maybe i will, maybe I'll help Flora to the point where she can go to school and-make friends and live a normal life" Ava said

Ava didn't know where all this was coming from she just honestly felt bad for the little girl

She could have just looked back at her childhood and see it being so better than floras and she didn't like that feeling, she wanted flora to explore the world before she turned out to be like miles

She also wanted miles to act like a normal teen boy, he was already bad enough

But help could still fix his ways

"I don't have a normal life?" Ava turned around to see flora standing by the door "no, flor, you do but it's not like the other little girls I know" Ava said while walking towards the girl and picking her up

"I'm not normal?" Flora asked "flora, why would you ask such a thing?" Nicole asked "because-" Ava cut off flora

"Flora you are normal, you're also the nicest and prettiest little girl I could have ever met, it's just the environment you live in isn't normal, yes its great and big, but it's creepy and dull, flor, you need more things that'll make you happy" Ava explained and she nodded

"Can we go back to sleep?" Flora asked and Ava nodded "yes, we could" Ava said and flora laid her head on Ava shoulder

Ava didn't know that she could hold flora for this long, but she was proud of herself

"We'll talk later" Ava said to her sister and she headed back into her room
