Their lips touched making Ava smile into the kiss

She hasn't felt his lips in forever, she felt as if a weight fell off her shoulders

She wrapped her arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer

They soon pulled away looking in each other's eyes

miles smiled making Ava do the same

"I read the note" miles said and Ava smiled "good" she said "do you really think I'm falling for Macey?" He asked making Ava grow an uneasy feeling

"well..yea" Ava said and she took her hands away from his neck "let's go find flora" Ava quickly changed the subject

Miles wanted to stay in that comfortable position they were in, he didn't want to leave the spot

Ava started walking ahead of miles making him follow quickly behind

They walked around the house and still didn't find her

Suddenly it hit miles "the pond" he said and started running bread the pond, he was terrified

If his sister wasn't at the pond he would have been freaking out

Ava followed right behind

Soon she fully caught up with miles and they saw Ava by the pond throwing rocks into the water

Miles was about to walk towards the girl but Ava grabbed his hand "I got this, I made her mad...so I'm going to fix this" Ava said and miles nodded and he walked out of the pond area

Ava then walked up to the little girl and sat next to her

"Hey, flor...I just want to say I'm sorry for scaring you" she said but flora just continued to throw the rocks in the pond

"I love you so much and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I didn't know you would get scared, you've gone through that gate so many times with me and Nicole, so I thought everything was going ok" Ava said and flora attention slowly grew to Ava

"And I just wanted to have ice cream with you and have a good time before I go back home" Ava said fully earning floras attention

"You're leaving again?" Flora asked and Ava sighed "yea, I have to go back home after this" Ava said making flora stop throwing the rocks and turning towards her

"I don't want you to leave" flora said and Ava sighed with her breath shaking a little

"I have to go, but I don't want to leave you either" Ava said and floras eyes started to water "Macey doesn't pay attention to me, she likes miles better" flora said making Ava grow mad

Ava opened her arms and Flora instantly went to her arms and Ava wrapped her arms around the little girl

"Flora, Macey isn't nothing to you, it doesn't matter if she doesn't pay attention, she's just missing out on the best person alive...and if she's stupid enough to not see that you're the most beautiful amazing girl you are it's her loss" Ava said while stroking Floras hair back

"Thank you, mommy" flora said making avas heart drop "flora, I'm not-" Ava got cut off by miles clearing his throat and she looked up at him seeing him widening his eyes "of course, flor" Ava said and looked at miles and he nodded

"Flora, can I asked you a question" Ava asked while still holding the little girl tightly in her arms "Yea" flora said "why didn't you want to go out the gate, you love going outside it" she said and flora sighed

"It's okay to tell me, I'm here" Ava said and flora nodded "I was looking out the window, and the girls that were here with Macey were walking to the car" flora started and Ava listened closely

"When they went to the gate it didn't open, one got out and tried opening it up, then she disappeared" Flora said and Ava eyebrows furrowed "what happened to the other girl?" Ava asked confused "she went out to book for the other girl then she disappeared, and I heard them screaming" flora said making Ava become scared for the little girl

Ava looked up to see miles gone

"Let's head back inside" Ava said and she stood up taking floras hand and they walked out of the pond area and headed back to the house

They heard yelling from miles once they got inside

Flora wanted to play but Ava wanted to see if everything was okay

"Play with your toys I'll be right back" Ava said to flora and she nodded

Ava then followed miles' voice and knocked on his room door

"Miles..are you okay?" She asked and it went quiet making the door halfway open to reveal his face

"What's wrong?" She asked him and he shook his head "nothing" he said and she pushed the door open revealing Macey

Macey stood mad

"What's going on?" Ava asked "you..you kissed miles" she said "and? He doesn't belong to anyone" Ava said not knowing what else to say

"Actually he does" Macey said while glaring at miles and miles looked over at Ava

"You lied, you're a fucking liar" Ava said to Miles and he tried reaching for her but she pulled back

"What the fuck, miles..." Ava said and walked away heading down stairs

She walked over to flora and she sighed

"Flora, I have to leave" Ava said to the little girl and she sat up and stopped playing with her toys instantly

"No, mommy, don't leave please" flora said "flora-" Ava couldn't tell her she wasn't her mom but she did want her to know

"I have to flora" she said and hugged her

She kissed her for head

Flora started to cry making Ava hesitate

She didn't know what to do

"Flora, I'll come to get you tomorrow okay? Jus you and m-mommy, okay?" She said

She didn't want to say mommy, but she didn't want to break the little girl's heart, she would soon find out, but now wasn't the time

Flora was already traumatized to leave

She couldn't get take all this at once

"Just-tell miles I'm coming to get you" she said "early?" Flora said and crying and holding on to avas legs

"I promise, early" she said

Ava has never seen flora this clingy and she knew that flora knew she wasn't her mom

But something clicked inside flora

And it made Ava not want to leave this little girl with 2 careless people
