Narrator pov

Ava knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds until the door swung open revealing Flora

"Ava!!" She said and she jumped in her arms making Ava catch her with a huge smile on her face "I missed you" Ava said and flora hugged her tighter

"I missed you too" flora said happily and Ava put her down and squatted down to her level

"So how's it been?" Ava asked "it's been...okay, but Macey is upset" Flora said and Ava furrowed her eyebrows and she looked around "wheres Macey?" She asked and she stood up closing the door behind her

She walked inside the house more feelings the creepy vibes all over again

She felt like it was her first day here, like the day she got here

She smiled to herself

"How miles holding up?" Ava asked while walking to the table and sitting down

"I don't know, him and Macey just goes out with the horses, I get bored easily" Flora said and Ava nodded "so, I wanted to go out for ice cream, what do you think about that?" Ava asked flora and her eyes widened

"Really?" Flora and Ava nodded "yea, why not" Ava said with smile and flora was happy

She didn't want to stay in the house, but she didn't really want to leave...

She was just happy that Ava was here

Ava started talking more to Flora about learning new things

She was pretty smart, she knew big words, she had confidence, she was an easy 7 year old to talk to

Suddenly Ava looked up to see miles and her heart started beating fast, soon came down Macey making Ava stand up

"Uh, I'm sorry for intruding, I just wanted to take..Flora for some ice cream-if that's alright" Ava said and miles nodded

Ava eyes shot to Macey to see her face wet from tears and her eyes red

"W-whats wrong?" Ava asked hoping mikes wasn't doing anything bad to her

"M-my friends" she said while rubbing her face making Ava more curious "what about your friends?" Ava asked trying not to sound nosey or rude

"They-were here..." Macey started but she didn't finish

She shook her head not wanting to finish the rest

"Her friends came over last night...then the next thing you know, they go missing but the car they came with is still out front" miles said and Ava shook her head

She was so happy to see him, to hear his voice, she missed him, but she couldn't show it, he wasn't showing it, so what was the point

"There's no car out front" Ava said and flora looked over at Miles and Miles looked at Macey

She looked up at Ava and stood up "w-what?" Macey asked shocked "no car is out front" Ava said and Macey pushed past the girl and ran out the door

The 3 all followed behind her and she looked back at them

"It was out here...this morning" Macey cried

Ava worriedly looked over at Flora

Ava shot Miles a warning look making miles

"Uh maybe you should take a nap" Miles said to Macey and she shook her head "the car was here, where could it have gone" she cried and miles grabbed her hand making Avas breath hitch

"Just go to bed...for me?" Miles said and Macey cried

Ava grabbed Flora and hugged her "sorry you had to see this" Ava said while being terrified

But she didn't show it, she was so used to this now

For those 2 weeks of staying in her room she taught her own self how to act normal even if she was feeling like total shit

Ava then walked back into the house, holding Floras hand seeing miles come down the stairs "sorry about that" miles said while rubbing the back of his neck "no, it's fine..she's going through a loss, I get it" Ava said and miles nodded

"How about that ice cream?" Miles changed the subject and flora nodded "YAYYYY!" Flora cheered making Ava smile

They all walked out and headed inside avas car they talked about her car and she told miles and flora the story of how she got surprised with it yesterday

Once Ava started the car she drove down the road ready to have fun without Macey getting in the way

While Ava drove down the long driveway flora eyes started to water as they got closer to the gate

"Stop-stop the car, I don't want to die" flora cried and Ava looked back at flora then back at the road

"Flora you'll be okay" Ava said "stop" flora cried and miles looked back at his sister "Ava stop the car" miles said

"We're not gonna die" Ava said while trying to calm down flora

"Stop the car or I'll fucking kill you!!" Miles yelled making Ava step in the break being shocked at miles' outburst and flora cried and got out of the car running away

"You ruin everything" miles said while glaring at Ava and going after his sister

Ava put her head back on the head rest and sighed deeply while rubbing her face not knowing what just happened

Ava got out of her car and followed behind the 2 siblings

Once she caught up she walked inside the horse farm

She saw flora run and she was about to go after her and miles stopped her

"She doesn't want to talk to you" miles said "I need to" she said and miles shook his head "your not her mom, she doesn't need you! So why don't you just leave her alone, you could leave!" Miles said and Ava nodded "fine..I'll leave" Ava said and walked out

Miles stood there regretting what he said

He didn't think she'd actually give up and leave

He sighed and speed walked behind her and grabbed her arm and spend her around to face him

"Wait, I'm sorry" he said and Ava shook her head "please...just stay" miles said while pulling her closer and looking down into her eyes

"It was a...outburst, I didn't mean it" he said and Ava nodded

She didn't like that she was easy when it came to forgiving people

But it was way more easy for miles than for anybody

"Help me find flora" Ava said miles nodded then leaned in making Ava do the same...
