Metagh said nothing as they materialised on the ground. Jim wasn't able to wrangle a proper stop; he swung the Enterprise close enough for normal teleport.
"Where will we go little one?"
Jenny wiped her eyes. "I'll find us a place. We gotta find you some clothes though."
Back on the Enterprise all hell was breaking loose.
'WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SHE WAS LEAVING JIM DAMNIT I'M A DOCTOR NOT A MIND READER!' Bones exploded when he found out.
'She had to go she's not authorized to be here! You said so yourself the first time you met her!' Jim was slightly offended by this sudden attack.
'Not authorized my ass she's done more to help this godforsaken wreck then half the people on this bucket!' Bones snorted.
He was angry at himself for letting her go so easily. If he hadn't been so distracted with his damn report....
'I'm sorry Bones! You'll get over it!' Jim avoided eye contact.
'Damn you James Tiberius Kirk.' Bones hissed and stalked off the bridge.
Jenny and Metagh were at a busy port called Wertha. Jenny found them a place, and she started working. When she wasn't collecting bounties she was tinkering. She wasn't good with heavy engines like Scotty, but small computer jobs were her forte.
Each day passed and her heart grew heavier. Her work was alright but it didn't excite her. She missed Scotty and her heart ached for Bones.
His grumpy voice or sour demeanor, or maybe just a slight smirk with his shining hazel eyes made any issue on the Enterprise disappear. Here it was hard, her uncle being the only Klingon on the planet, with everything that it entailed.
A week after she had left her sleek tricorder thingy beeped. 'Lass?'
Jenny nearly cried. 'Scotty!'
'There's my wee lass! How's life treating you on Wertha?' Scotty smiled sadly, his face filling the screen.
'Not bad. Not as exciting as the Enterprise though. I don't get to attack any warbirds or cure any grumpy doctors.' She laughed a little.
'Aye. We miss you lassie.' Scotty sighed.
'Nothing's been the same without you.' Uhura butt in, elbowing Scotty to get into the camera range.
'The engineering bays gone quiet. Even that grumpy doctor you like so much isn't himself. He's as tight as me grandpappy's trousers after breakfast.' Scotty continued, glaring at Uhura.
'He went berserk when he found out you left. He was really angry that Kirk didn't say anything to him.' Uhura added.
'Aye well if he got his face outta that pigsty of an office 'e would know.' Scotty muttered.
Jenny giggled as she felt her heart break a little. 'Oh dear. I wish I could come back and see it myself.'
'I wish you could too lassie. But Kirk is certain. You cannae come aboard, especially not with your uncle.'
'I know. How soon can you guys take some shore leave?'
'Another six months at least my wee lass. But you can bet your boots we're comin' as soon as we can.'
They chatted a bit more before Scotty had to hang up.
Metagh spoke to Jenny about it later on that evening. "You are not happy little one."
"I'm not uncle. I miss them. They were my friends." Jenny pushed her plate away.
"Did I ruin it by my sudden arrival?" He asked.
