Jenny reluctantly put down her knapsack and looked around her new room.

'Not bad eh?' Jim said brightly.

It isn't really that bad..

The room was plain, with a clean bed that was already made and a simple nightstand with a lamp.

Exactly the same as the one she had as Sally.

'Are you allowed to give me a room on the staff floors though?' She asked.

'Pros of being friends with the Captain.' He winked. 'Although we could be more then friends...'

'Get out' She pushed him through the door.

It was already late and the big day she'd had with Turner had taken it's toll.

Maybe I'll grab a bite and hit the sack....

Should I get food for McCoy? He's been in surgery for hours, so he's probably hungry. But that looks weird.. maybe?

She agonised over it. There was a food replicator in her room, as well as the dining hall. Maybe I can pretend I got too much... But then how do I explain being in the Medbay?

I am definitely overthinking this aaaaa

In the end she scampered down to the dining hall and grabbed some mac'n'cheese to take to the Medbay.

All was quiet as she tiptoed in, carrying the styrofoam container. Time passes so weird here .. it kinda doesn't feel like the middle of the night. But then that's the blackness of space combined with artificial lighting for you.

The door to his office was closed. She knocked on it tentatively.

There was a muffled response. She opened the door a crack to see him slumped over his desk, asleep.

Crap. Do I wake him up? Do I leave? Do I leave the food?

As she freaked out over what to do, the smell of mac'n'cheese evidently was strong enough to wake Bones up.

'Jones?' He rubbed his forehead tiredly, his hair sticking up.

She jumped. 'I got too much food so here!' She practically shoved the styrofoam container and fork at him.

'Thanks.' He looked at the container then back to her.

'I guess I'll be going now?' She shifted awkwardly from foot to foot.

'You can pull up a chair if you like.' He shrugged, popping open the box and starting to eat.

She did.

'So, Jim found you a room?' He asked casually as he ate.

'Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's my old one from before.' Jenny nodded.

'Could be worse. I bet he offered to let you stay in his room?' Bones snorted through his mouthful.

'Come on, it's James Kirk.' Jenny scoffed, making eye contact with him.

They both grinned at each other, although Bones' was significantly more tired looking.

'How long have you even been on this ship?' He asked curiously, dragging his fork lazily through the sticky cheese of his dinner.

'I was here for two weeks the first time, now I'm gonna be here for at least a month.' Jenny moaned slightly.

'We may not be as rough an' lawless as you but we work damn hard.' Bones replied.
