'What brings you back?' Bones asked as they ate in the dining hall. 'It's been a few months.'
'I'm touched you remember.' She flashed a grin. 'It was a complete accident, I was tracking down a bounty and you guys happened to stumble into my end of space.'
'Billions of miles of godforsaken space and we end up in the same place.' Bones muttered.
'Oh hush. I'm not back for long anyway, and last time I was here I did save your life.'
'I never did thank you for that.' Bones admitted.
'You're welcome.' She chirped.
'Hey!' Jim plopped down at their table next to Bones. 'I want the full story if you're gonna be running around loose on my ship.'
She pulled a face but spilled the beans. 'I wish there was another term for bounty hunter, but that's what I am. I sound a bit like a broken record though.'
Jim looked fascinated. 'So how did you become one? Were your parents like bounty hunters too or?'
'No.' She replied shortly, before seemingly remembering her manners. 'No they weren't, but I enjoy it. I started a couple years ago. It pays fairly well. Speaking of which, I need to get to Qhillio.'
'The Enterprise isn't scheduled for a stop.' Jim told her.
'Come on!' She wheedled. 'It's just a teensy weensy swerve to the side.'
Bones muttered something incoherent under his breath as Jim looked like he was weakening. 'How would I explain it to Star Fleet?'
'Tell them the truth...or at least a version of it.' Jenny persuaded. 'Explain that you saved a random traveler, who you then returned home.'
'I can't turn back now, the Enterprise would miss it's next fuel up. Qhillio doesn't have the resources for our ship.' Jim sighed finally.
Jenny sat back, disappointed. 'What am I supposed to do? I have a prisoner and no ship to go to.'
'You could just stay with us.' Jim shrugged.
Bones shot him a passive aggressive what-are-you-doing look.
'What would I even do?' Jenny snorted. 'I'm not really a Star Fleet nerd.'
'You could help doctor McCoy.' Jim said innocently.

'Tie it like this.' Bones repeated irritatedly.'I'm trying!' Jenny responded, trying and failing to do a knot in the bandage for the hundredth time.
'Try harder!' Bones grumbled.
'Put a cork in it McCoy.' She shot back, struggling with the bandage and almost ripping it.
'This was a stupid idea. Get out of my Medbay.' Bones snatched the bandage back and shoved her towards the doors.
'Don't be a child.' She snipped, crossing her arms.
'You're being a child! A five year old could tie this!'
She took a deep breath, hissing through her teeth. 'I hate tying knots. Can you please show me slowly, and explain carefully.'
'Fine.' Bones held out the bandage. 'Wind this end here, tuck that other end under here, then pull it through.'
Jenny followed carefully.
'Now take the end that you just pulled through, and feed the other strip through it.'
Her brow furrowed in concentration, she did so.
