'We're getting close to Qhillio, soon you'll be home free.' Jim informed her, stopping by engineering.

'Ok thanks for the update.' Jenny nodded, monitoring power levels for Scotty as he worked on some panel or other.

'I want you to report to Medbay for a physical before you leave.' Jim added, a twinkle in his eye.

He had seen her and Bones walking together, talking in low voices and smiling.

They're perfect for each other.

'I'm fine!' She protested. 'I'm as healthy as always.'

'Either way Bones could use some help, get up there.' Jim commanded, failing to keep the smirk off his face.

She rolled her eyes but went. At least you'll get to see McCoy.

'It's not working Spock.' Jim complained.

'I presume you are referring to your failed attempts to move doctor McCoy and the passenger, Jenny, into a romantic relationship?' Spock said over the comms.

He and Vi were back in New Vulcan. Spock and Vi were cuddled together on their chaise lounge, talking.

Spock cupped a hand over the receiver, a ghost of a smile on his features. 'Doctor McCoy is resisting his impulses.'

'I don't think this is a logical idea Spock.' Vi frowned. 'She cares about him, but if he doesn't feel the same then it'll only hurt both of them.'

'I would agree that is the logical decision however in my conversation with doctor McCoy he gave several indications that he cares for her.' Spock replied.

'Spock are you there?' Jim sounded annoyed.

'Indeed I am Captain.' Spock flicked his eyebrows at Vi.

'He gave her a physical. And nothing happened.' Jim sighed.

'What exactly was supposed to happen?' Vi pulled a face.

'They should have fallen madly in love. But anyway they talk a little but that's it!'

'Jim he's a doctor, helping a patient. Did you really think it was going to end with a dramatic love declaration or a kiss?' Vi rolled her eyes.

'Well, yeah but- oh sorry gotta go Spock! Disaster on the bridge!' Jim sounded worried and hung up.

'When did Bones say he loved her?!' Vi turned to Spock.

'I cannot recall the exact date. He had known her for two days and enjoyed her company thoroughly. He came to me and confessed not only her true identity but also his feelings for her.' Spock explained.

Vi was stunned.

Back on the Enterprise there was tensions running high.

'How could we have just stumbled into neutral space?!' Jim was yelling at one of the helmsmen.

'It gets worse sir.' Sulu pointed to the screen.

Jenny was in the Medbay. After her physical in which she refused to explain her scars, she was given odd jobs to do. Now she was tying bandages when the wall communicator started beeping.

'Bones prepare for casualties!' Kirk yelled through the Comms.

'You've deafened me!' Bones yelled back.

'Bones we're about to be engaged by Klingon warbirds.'

Bones took a deep breath. 'Holy.'

Jenny swallowed. This was her fault. She knew it. Arreq had hinted that when she'd arrested him. "They'll find you. You won't be able to hide behind a blue shirt."
