Meanwhile Bones was sulking in the Medbay. He had a problem. Nurse Williams was showing interest in him.

She was young, pretty, smart. She ticked all the boxes. But every time he looked at her he missed Jenny.

Even last night, when she was trying to make him laugh, he couldn't summon a real smile.

He actually thought he had seen Jenny for a moment, but he knew he must have imagined it.

Get her out of your head!

Poor Angela Williams had no idea she was fighting with a woman who wasn't even on the ship. She was upset, wondering what she was doing wrong.

For the hundredth time that day, she popped her head into his office and smiled. 'Do you need anything else Doctor McCoy?'

'No thank you nurse.' Bones said listlessly. Unless you can get me a bounty hunter with a British accent.

Goddamn it Leonard get that insane woman out of your head.

'Do you have any plans for tonight doctor?' She asked shyly.

Her fluffy blonde hair framed her small face, and she played with a strand as she smiled.

Bones knew she was attractive. There was even a part of him that told him to say yes, to show this pretty young thing a good time. But the rest of him sighed resignedly and pointed out that nothing could compare to that black haired hurricane.

But she was gone. She hadn't even said goodbye. And so he pushed Jenny out of his mind and forced himself to smile. 'Not as of yet. Did you want to get some dinner?'

She gave a shy giggle. 'Yeah. Tonight at six?'

'Sure. It's a date.'

She practically skipped out.

Bones watched her go with a heavy heart. He felt slightly guilty, but he supposed no harm could come of it. It would take his mind off Jenny, and give Angela a chance.

Three months. Three months since he had seen that cheeky bounty hunter swagger through the Medbay doors. He had to get over it.

Angela looked dolled up that night. Bones chatted with her pleasantly as they ate.

'What do you like Leonard?'

He thought for a moment. 'I like the grass and the hills, the smell of the country. I grew up in Georgia, on a farm. I loved it. Bit of whisky never hurt.' He chuckled.

Angela laughed prettily. 'I've never had whisky.'

'Now that is unacceptable!' Bones exclaimed. He went over to the bar and dug around in the fridge until he found some. 'Grab yourself a glass sweet heart.'

She did so and Bones filled it. 'Take a sip of that.'

Angela squealed a little as she tried it. 'It burns!'

'Nah you just gotta take it quicker.' Bones grinned and poured himself a shot, chugging it.

Jenny was in Uhura's quarters still. She had claimed a dark blanket and wrapped herself in it like a burrito. Her cut arm was still patched up, and she was confident it would heal just fine on it's own.

Either that, or it would scar over to match the rest of her body.

Since Uhura got back Jenny had decided to be frank with her, and told her her entire life story.

'I miss them so much. My parents, my family. I've gone no one left now.' She concluded.

Uhura wiped away a tear, laughing shakily. 'I don't even know what to say. But you've always got friends. Me, Kirk. Scotty's claimed you as his surrogate sister since day one.'
