"And you're sure?"

"I assure you, this diamond is 110% secure."

"Good, I am not risking anyone stealing this thing. It's worth more than your life, and mine."

UK walked out of the room, leaving the guards to do their jobs.

Downstairs, in the ballroom, a party was being held, and UK's family were the center of attention.

France was looking beautiful in his suit, ruffles all along the bottom of the waistcoat, making the clothes look more eccentric.
Canada entertained guests with his intriguing stories and tales of wonder. His stories of the shenanigans his siblings and him would get into were some of the best.
Speaking of siblings, New Zealand was putting on her own little performance with some birds she'd been training. Her and Australia showed off an assortment of animals to be in awe of. Of a reasonable size, of course. UK would've never let them bring anything larger than a Komodo dragon. Which, they did bring.
And America. He was making himself quite the spectacle. Around the room he danced and danced, flitting from one conversation to another.

Once he took his final bow and left China behind, he decided to take a break and grab some refreshments.

At the table - which was so carefully decorated with all sorts of cheeses and foods and drinks - America thought it a good idea to fix himself a small plate of some pie, as well as champagne.

He glanced to his right and noticed a rather underdressed figure standing there.

"Not here for the party, huh?"

Aforementioned country looked over at him in slight surprise. He nodded and went back to looking over all the people like some sort of gargoyle.

"Not much of a talker either. You working or something?"

The country nodded again, this time not even looking at America.

"I'm just here on assignment. Your father has asked me to ensure the safety and security of a rather important gem."

"Ugh, that stupid diamond. Even when he hosts parties, he can't relax about it. It kills me how he coddles it like his child. Well, not that he payed his own children that much attention anyways," America said, sipping his champagne and staring at the chandelier being reflected in the liquid.

The other country cleared their throat uncomfortably, making America look up in embarrassment.

"Oops," he giggled, "Guess that's enough champagne for me already, amirite?"

The other just have a small nod and hum of approval. America grinned a little and stepped closer to him, interested in the other.

"Sucks that you have to be watching all these people have fun, huh? Boring, I bet."

"A little, but it's not like I'm much for parties anyway," he responded.

"Oh? Maybe I could help with that? I'm great at parties."

His partner in conversation raised a brow, figuring out what America was implying; but he didn't speak on it.

"Would you like to dance with me?"

The guard looked down at America, and a barely noticeable ghost of a smile pulled at his lips. America did see his eyes squint up a little, and took that as a push to go on with his persuasion.

"Come on. One dance, and it's over. I'll make your night unforgettable, I swear~"

And how could he say no to that? The answer is...he couldn't.
