Despite some crazy mood swings and wild cravings on Japan's end, and some coddling and stress on Poland's, the two were doing well so far. The doctor said Japan would most likely be due sometime in the next two weeks.
Plenty of time for the happy couple - soon-to-be family - to host their baby shower.
They'd actually been planning for several weeks, since they'd gotten the news. Invited all their friends and family, of course.
Japan planned party games themed for the event, and Poland helped his wife fix up the house and decorations.
They'd spent all morning cooking also, making sure they had enough food for all their guests.
South Korea and America showed up early to help. America said Russia would be by later with some alcohol and his siblings, and China would be by as soon as he got off work, which Japan already knew. For the time being, he brought Pac with him(yes that's right bitches, Pac is in this story, because yes).
Pac was struck with curiousness and big eyes when she looked upon Japan's round belly.
"Ā yí, you prregant?"
"'Pregnant,' hon," America corrected patiently.
"Pregant," Pac tried repeating, unaware of her mistake.
"Yes, I'm pregnant, Pac!"
"Wow! What's it mean?"
"Your ā yí is going to have a baby! Like you're your daddies' baby."
"When you have your babies, can I play with them? The babies will be my friend?"
"Of course! You'll be best friends. All three!"
"You have three!? Why didn't my daddies have three?"
Pac turned around with a huff and a stomp of her foot and frowned up at America who looked nervous, but amused.
"Sorry hon, we only had you. Japan is a special case I guess."
"I want another! I want a baby!"
"Not until you're 30," America muttered.
"It's okay, Pac," Japan assured her, "soon, I'll have enough babies for me and your daddies."
"And wujka?"
"And wujka," she nodded.
Thailand dropped off Taiwan and Hong Kong, before driving off to pick up some others. Vietnam arrived with Philippines, as well as the other two members of the Rice Gang, Indonesia and Malaysia
"Ohayō!" she greeted them with a bow before giving them each a hug.
Philippines stood back from their hug to look at Japan's belly. "You look so big now! When are you due?"
"Sometimes next week," Japan answered, "although I feel like I could give birth at any moment. I'd recommend not bumping into me, for fear of one popping out!"
They laughed and Philippines was dragged away by Vietnam to admire some tabletop decorations. Japan was going to make her way into the house to check on some things, when she felt a pain.
Nothing horrible, it was only a pretty dull ache in her back, but it certainly made her stop in her tracks to clutch her lower back.
"Japan, you okay?" Poland asked, having seen her stop and coming to check on her.
"Ooooh, I just had a little pain. These babies - ughf - they're not going easy on me."
"Let's get you inside, sit you down."
