As the ball of fire dipped beneath the horizon, Dave said, "We both had suns."

I looked at him weirdly for a minute, letting that sink in. "On both Earth and Alteria?" I asked, with a glance at Dave. He nodded, then started rattling off all the things we had in common, finally ending at 'Love'. He held my gaze for a moment too long and I had to look away.

"What, you count your dumbass 1 quadrant thing love? Unacceptable." I said, shaking my head and looking down to keep him from seeing me blushing.

"Hey, you know on our planet there was, well, there would have been if we wouldn't have blown it up-" he said with a chuckle "-a gay rights movement."

I looked at him blankly. "You expect me to know what that is, Knight of Time?"

He laughed, and it made my heart leap. "Well, all the trolls would be pan, and wouldn't know about this but-" and he launched into telling me all these amazing stories about Stonewall and how in the Middle ages people would be burned for being gay or lesbian, and how in 2013- "gay marriage became legal." He smiled at me, and I was thinking about how since they destroyed their world in 2009, it would never come true. I was basking in the glow of this amazing story, a smile on my face when he reached over and kissed me.
