"Cmon Strider, you need to get out of the house at some point." Rose said, pushing Dave off the couch. He just groaned and rolled over. 

"Dave, I swear, you stink and you need to empty Crush's kitty litter TODAY." She said with a groan as she grabbed her purse and walked out the door.

"Have a good day too..." He muttered.

Crush butted his head against Dave's leg and meowed loudly. He walked over to the kitty litter and stared pointedly at it. 

"Alright, you pushy little..." He stood up and quickly emptied the litter into the trash with his hand over his nose. He smiled down at Crush who mewed back and pulled his leash off the wall.

"You know, your the only cat in the world who goes on walks. Crazy." He clipped the leash onto Crushs collar and let himself be pulled out the door. 

They walked along towards the park, their usual route. Crush sniffed at everything and hissed at passing cars. Dave laughed and said, "You could pass as a dog with that attitude." Crush mewed up at him and pulled him farther down the street. They finally arrived at the park. Dave flopped down on a bench and pulled Crush up next to him. The cat curled up next to him and flopped his head on Dave's lap.

"Hey, Dave!"

Dave turned to see John walking towards him, hands in his white hoodie. Dave nodded him over and John sat down next to him, silly grin plastered over his face. 

"How've you been? I haven't seen you since that party!" 

"Fine. How are you-"

"So I heard you and Karkat broke up." John said quickly, his face turning red. 

Dave rolled his eyes. It was so clear that John had a crush on him ever since they were kids. Dave had ignored his terrible flirting to stay at the level they were: friends. Never wanted anything more.

"John, man, I've told you enough. I'm not going out with you."

John grumbled a bit and crossed his arms. "You say that every time..."

"And I mean it every time. Stop. ASKING." He said, coming off a little ruder then he meant to be.

"It isn't even for me this time!" John spluttered. "Its for Jade!" 

Dave's jaw dropped but he quickly composed himself and said, "Ridiculous. Let me guess, she never shows up at the restaurant and you just HAPPEN to be there? John, seriously..."

"I'm being serious! She heard you guys broke up and called me to see if you were available!" 

Dave mentally scratched his head. He had no clue that Jade liked him and the fact that she was asking now, so soon after Karkat....

"She's coming to the reuion, right?" John nodded. "Well, I'll see her then."

He set Crush down on the path and walked away.
