Karkat couldn't sleep that night. Every time he closed his eyes, Terezi flashed by in his mind. He woke up the next morning shaking from a nightmare. He reached out for Dave before remember he wasn't there. He sighed and pulled on a shirt before going downstairs.

Kankri was downstairs sitting at the bar. Karkat was surprised to see him, but not surprised to see him drinking a beer at nine in the morning.

"Hey."

"Hey."

He walked past him to the fridge, grabbed some food, and sat down next to him at the counter.

"Did you get the groceries?"

"Yeah."

"Good."

Kankri finished his beer and stumbled up the stairs, not looking back at Karkat.

"I move into his house, and this is all the thanks I get...?"

He was about to head out before he heard-

"Oh yeah don't you have a date tonight?"

He paused and called back, "How the fuck do you know that?!"

"Shes the one who texted me to see if you're single!"

~~time skip cause I'm a lazy bitch~~

Karkat pulled at his tie, wondering if the outfit he had on was too much. He had on a dark collared shirt and a red tie. Shit, why am I even trying to impress her? He thought. Its not like you like her or anything.

He turned when he heard his name and smiled to see her. She was wearing a dark green blouse and skinny jeans.

"You look nice." She said.

"Thanks, you do too."

"Shall we?"

"Sure, I guess."

They walked inside, Karkat fretting the whole time.

"Karkat calm down, I can almost hear your thoughts from here."

He took a deep breath and sighed. "Sorry, its just been a while since I've gone on a date, let alone with a girl..."

"Its alright."

They walked quietly for a while, Terezi pointing out dresses in shop windows but mostly being silent. He could feel her staring at him, but not just at him, almost like she could read his feelings like a book.

"Hungry?"

"Starving." She said with a grin, pulling him towards the mall food court.

They ordered and sat across from each other at the table. Karkat figeted and finally said, "This is awkward."

Terezi laughed and said, "You have no idea how to talk to women, do you?"

"That damn obvious?"

"Yeah."

"I don't think this will work out, Terezi. I-"

"Karkat," She cut in, "You don't have to explain yourself. I get it."

"Really?" He said, relieved.

"Of course!"

"Oh thank Gog, I was worried."

"Are you coming to the reunion?"

"Yeah, are you?"

"Yep. Hopefully-" Terezis face turned red for a second- "Hopefully Vriska will be there..."

He grinned. "Crushing on Vriska now, are we?"

"Ah shut your trap Karkat, you like a human!"

He stared at her. "How do you know-"

She waved her hand impatiently. "Its all over your smell. You broke up with him unwillingly and you still like him. I don't have to see to know that."

He chewed his lip and muttered Fuck off under his breath.

She sighed. "I'm going to call my sister to take me home, I see you need a minute."

She walked over and kissed him on the cheek. "Good luck, Karkat."
