Draco's POV

My heart hurt as I watched Harry leave. How I regretted at that moment that I hadn't told him the truth.

It was on the tip of my tongue the whole time.

Maybe if I had told him he would have understood.

But now it was too late.

I wanted to run after him but I was frozen to the spot.

I looked at the towel on the floor where I had given myself fully to Harry and tears fell freely from my eyes.

Merlin, I loved him so much...

He was so careful. He made sure I was okay before every new touch and held me close as he gave me his everything.

Right then I was his and he was mine. It was just us, and the rest of the world faded away.

The way Harry shouted my name at the end made me feel complete.

It made me feel like nothing could ever draw us apart.

I tried to shake the thought away and took deep breaths, attempting to calm my breathing, which was becoming really fast.

"For Merlin's beards, don't panic... it's not the time..."

I told myself and at the same time the bracelet warmed up, and I smiled.

I tapped it twice and felt myself relax.

It's almost like he knew... he always does...

I managed to compose myself and got dressed, shaking my head as I realised Harry had left everything behind and I had to clean it up myself. Not that I minded. It was these small things that made him so Harry.

I cleaned everything and walked to our quarters.

Once I got there I picked up a piece of parchment and decided to write Harry a letter so I could give him an explanation.

I wrote what came into my mind, not hiding anything, then quickly baked him a chocolate chip cake, his favourite. With magic, of course.

I went to our room and packed, purposely putting Harry's red sweater that he slept in inside my trunk.

I also left on the bed my Slytherin scarf, because I knew he liked to steal it thinking I didn't notice.

I smiled sadly at the thought and finished packing.

After I was done, I walked to the living room, shrank my trunk so it fits in my pocket.

I levitated Harry's album to the table in the centre of the room and put in more recent pictures I had taken, but kept one with Harry and me looking into each other's eyes and smiling.

A tear slipped down my face but I wiped it away and stood up.

I placed the cake and the letter next to the album and added a bouquet of lilies, before taking one last glance at the quarters I grew to call home, and then left to the room of requirement, not looking back, so I could start with my final mission.

Harry's POV

Dumbledore took me to some sort of cave in the middle of nowhere, and I didn't know what he wanted from here.

He almost died trying to get to a green locket, I don't understand why he would risk all that.

I almost freaked out but then remembered about the bracelet, tapped it, and relaxed as soon as Draco tapped back.

He's amazing.

Anyways, we were heading out of the cave and I was helping Dumbledore walk up when he turned to me.

"You're a good boy Harry. A good boy who was forced into a fight from the moment you were born. You're strong, remember that. If you do, you'll win this battle with no doubt." He said in his hoarse voice, and I smiled up at him.

"Thank you... I would never be who I am if it weren't for you." I said and he patted my back smiling proudly.

We didn't talk anymore until we got out of the cave and he apparated us back to Hogwarts.

He fell on the floor when we got there and I held him up.

"Are you okay? Do you want me to get someone?" I asked concerned and he shook his head.

"I'm alright, my boy. I'll stay here for a little bit, you should get to class." He said and I frowned. "Don't worry, Harry." He reassured and I nodded, helped him stand and hugged him.

"I'll see you later." I mumbled and he hugged me back.

I pulled away and smiled, before heading out of the tower.

But as I was heading out I heard someone go in, so I stayed to make sure everything was okay.

I was feeling nervous so I kept as quiet as possible.

Then I saw him and my heart starting beating faster.

He was talking but I couldn't hear anything.

I tried to move but realized someone had cursed me so I wouldn't move.

My eyes watered as I saw him draw his wand out and disarm Dumbledore.

No...

"... Draco... you are not a killer..." I heard Dumbledore say.

Please no...

Everything after that happened so fast. Snape, Bellatrix and other Death Eaters walked in, Draco was standing tall next to them, like that was his place all along.

He looked down for a second and his terrified eyes locked with my betrayed and hurt ones.

He tapped the bracelet but I didn't tap back, as all of a sudden a jet of green light shot from the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest.

My scream of horror never left me, silent and unmoving, I was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air and off of the Astronomy Tower.
