John stared at me with his wide brown eyes, I noticed when I couldn't help but turn back around. He started to walk towards me, but he hesitated, backing away. He'd softly exhale like a laugh, shooting a warm smile.
His hand held a pile of clothes, his body turning around and heading back inside the bathroom.
I kind of, I was, I was disappointed.
Can't lie. I pretty much was. I inhaled, peering back outside the window. My shoulders fell as my breath slipped out from my mouth.

The front door rattled, the lock keeping the door closed firmly. I narrowed my eyes, sitting up in bed. My vision turning out blurry, before they got used to their surroundings.
John's hair was splayed about on his pillow, his closed eyes and low breathing indicating he was still asleep.
The door rattled again.
"John?" I didn't even mean to whisper his name. No response. Rattle. I felt something clog my throat, I'd swallow with a bit of fear that found my warming body. I pushed the covers off my legs, that were covered with pant legs. My first instinct was to reach for my phone, and check the time.
2:50 AM. Well, I'm gonna die. Once I found the courage to bring, I stood at the foot of the door. The lock almost about to fall, and let in whatever or whoever it was outside.
"Alexander? John? Are you in there?" a shaky voice flickered. Angelica?
I quickly slap the lock away from safety, and opened the door with a 'swish.' Tears covered her face, her hair pushed back behind her ears.
Her arms crossed, her right hand hiding something that belonged on her left arm. She stepped in slowly, closing the door behind her. Her hair was curly like normal, her hair flowing down her shoulders.
"What's going on?" I leaned in, pulling her in a hug. We didn't pull apart when she answered.

"Alan."
I immediately felt a bolt of rage strike me, I must've shown it, because Angelica tightened her grip in the hug.
"It's okay."
"No it's not. What'd he do?" We finally pulled apart. She wiped away tears that had escaped her eyes. "H-He, got someone.." she breathed quickly. "pregnant."
"You?" I blinked, slightly crouching to meet her eyes that stared down at the floor. Angelica shook her head, her eyebrows furrowing.
"No."
"Oh, Angelica. I'm so sorry." I wrapped my arms around her again, my emotions scrolling through. Confused to pick which one. "Who was it?" I decided to ask moments later.
"I don't know." she sniffled. Pulling her hair back once more, as loads of strands had escaped behind her ear.
"What's going on?" John's voice sounded behind me. He'd walk to the side of us, yawning. His eyebrows were raised in question.
"Alan. He cheated on her." I responded quickly, my eyes not glancing away from the girl. John unexpectedly growled, his exhaustion disappearing from his eyes. He'd kneel to his knees, meeting heights with both of us. He joined in on the hug, looking like he was choking the poor girl.

Alexander opened the hotel door to the open room, holding a cup of coffee. His hair was still a great mess, but, who cares? Angelica sat on John's bed, still, crying. John sat at her side, his arm around her in a comforting way.
He'd enter the room, the door automatically closing behind him. Alexander walked past the tv stand, placing the key card on top before sitting down on the bed, on Angelica's other side. He handed her the cup, her twitching fingers taking it. She glanced gratefully at her friend before taking a sip.
"So, I'm sorry to ask this, but, I couldn't help but wonder." Alexander sighed. "How did you find out?"
"He told me himself." she responded when she put her drink down in her lap.
"Really?" John leaned in on the conversation. Angelica nodded, staring into the wall that was next to Alexander's bed.
"He isn't a good man for doing that to you Angelica. But there is hundreds of good men out there looking for a beautiful lady, such as yourself." John spoke again, Alexander smiling in agreement. She sniffed.
"He was the best thing that ever happened to me." her head dropped, her eyes shut tight like she was avoiding an attack. John and Alexander exchanged sympathy glances, their eyes pulling away from each other and back to their friend.
"We know Angelica. But there's a point in life, where we have to move on. We can't sit and cry." Alexander pointed out.
"We love you Angelica, and we'll always be here to help you out. Everyone that's in your life cares about you, and the way you live." John added, taking Angelica's attention off of Alexander.
She smiled weakly, her pointer finger wiping a tear from her chin.
"Thanks guys."

Angelica fell asleep on John's bed. It was currently 10:27 AM. He wanted to go down to the beach, but to be there, alone, with all those people? One of those people could be Jefferson, and Alexander wasn't ready to talk to him just yet.

John sighed, laying on Eliza's bed. Boredom hitting him like a package of bricks. Eliza sat next to him, on her phone with a gleaming smile.
"I don't know if he likes me anymore." John pouted, crossing his arms. His body turned to his right side so Eliza could see his face. She had been rooming with James, but he had gone down to the beach with Peggy, Hercules, and Lafayette.
"Maybe you were right.." he sighed once more, sadness replacing the boredom.
"John, he's not even to guys'." she rolled her eyes. "He only kissed you because he felt bad for you." Eliza spoke the truth, it seemed. Usually if she was lying, she'd show a bit of a smile, maybe a mischevious spark in her eye.
"You're right." John felt his eyes water, burrying his face into the blanket next to him. Eliza looked at him, sympathy rushing over to her.
"But, you're in luck." she placed her phone in her lap, her hand reaching over and patting his shoulder.
"'Cause, you're on a cruise, that goes on for almost an entire year. There's lots of hot guys waiting out there for you."
John knew better not to trust words that came out of Eliza's mouth for the past minute, but she was his best friend, and she sounded genuine.
"Yeah. Alright." his face arose from the covers, his feet meeting the floor, his body balancing as he stood.
"I'm gonna go meet the others. Wanna come?" he'd ask, wiping away a possible tear.
"Sure."

"Meet you there." she walked down the roaming halls. The rug a dark red, the walls a lighter shade of the color.
John snuck into his room, cautious of literally everything that appeared in his sight.
"Back already?" Alexander's voice sounded. John flinched, shuttering with defeat.
"Uh, yeah. Just grabbing a towel." he answered, stepping into the room with the door closing behind.
"Are you going to the beach? Please tell me you are." he hopped up from his bed, walking towards John with a desirable joy.
"Yeah. Do you both want to join?" John quickly walked out of Alexander's way, as the young man stopped where almost their nose's touched. He only did so, to teach himself to give up on Alexander. And for Alexander to give up on him.
"Um, sure. We'll see you down." John picked up a towel at the side of him, opening the hotel room door and walking out quickly to avoid any physical touch when Alexander answered.

Seagulls squawked around the beach, their shadows looming over the sands. The ocean crashed down on surprised water and people below. Two surfers washed along waves, screams of joy dropping out into the air.
Kids ran around, kicking up sand that rested. Towels were set out. People walking around with supplies tucked in their arms, searching for an open spot on the beach. Palm trees showered some people with shade, their beautiful branches slightly waving.
Alexander surveyed the beach for his friends, soon spotting them in the middle of everything. Angelica followed loosely behind. She had reluctantly got up when he awoke her, her face stained with tears.
They both carried one big bag, that contained their towels, keys, phones, and shoes.
