Annabeth's POV

I shut the door behind me, leaving Peter and Rachel in the cabin by themselves. Percy and walked away from the large group of cabins, heading to our special spot. We walked in silence, holding hands until we made it to the riverbank right next to where the two of us kissed for the first time. I took off my shoes and sat, putting my feet in the water. Percy did the same.

"Annabeth," Percy began, "why did Rachel seem to know who Peter was? I thought we figured out that something kept all of us from that information before today."

"Actually, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I went to talk to Chiron to see if I could get any answers from him, and when I walked inside the Big House, I noticed Rachel and Chiron speaking privately. I, I guess you could say overheard their conversation."

"You eavesdropped, didn't you."

I nodded my head guiltily. "Well, whatever the case, Rachel has always known about these superheroes, and she's actually a really big fan too. Chiron confirmed our suspicions that the gods were keeping us away from this information, but Rachel wasn't affiliated, in any way but her sight, to Greek Mythology when superheroes were first introduced to the public, meaning, she wasn't kept from any of this information as we have. Rachel also said that the very first thing that Chiron ever said to her once she came to camp was to keep everything Avengers related a secret from everyone here." I explained quickly.

Percy stared at me in awe. "So you're saying that the gods kept all of this information completely sealed from us, but now, just today, the two of us specifically have gotten this information in three different ways. The gods don't make those kinds of mistakes, and we've learned enough times that we don't experience coincidences. This is all happening for a reason, and I don't think it's a good one."

"I completely agree, we wouldn't just run into three instances of this information for no reason. Chiron must be right." I was starting to have a very bad feeling about this, even though I already knew that this could never be good.

"What do you mean he was right. About what?"

"Chiron only got Rachel involved because he believes that a prophecy is coming, one that includes Peter."

"Uggggggggh" Percy groaned heavily while leaning back and laying his head in the sand. "Another one! I thought I was done. Can't someone else go on a quest for once?"

I sighed. "I get it. I don't want to deal with this either, but, we're already involved, so it's not like we'll be left out of this one, that's for sure. If only..." I chuckled, leaning my head back in the same fashion as Percy. I smiled, staring up at the cloudless sky.

I moved my hand, bringing it closer to Percy. I felt his fingertips on mine and we both laced our fingers together, squeezing tight. I rolled over, turning to face Percy. He was already doing the same. I gazed into his beautiful, sea-green eyes with a cheerful grin on my face. I was happy just to be there with him. Simultaneously, we leaned into each other, close enough to feel his breath on my face. I closed my eyes. Then, out of nowhere, I heard a loud bang and a rumble similar to a small earthquake. I shot upright, immediately stood up, and out of instinct, placed a hand of the sheath holding my dagger. Percy did the same, only he was holding his pen, Riptide, in his hand, ready to pull off the cap.

"What was that?" I asked.

"No clue, I'll look for the source, you go check on Rachel and Peter." I followed what he told me. I ran off in the opposite direction of my boyfriend, back to the cabins we came from.

I opened the door to the cabin and to my surprise, no one was inside. Where did they go? I thought. I closed the door to the cabin and quickly ran in the direction of Rachel's cave. Before I could reach it, I noticed Rachel walking a few meters ahead of me. I ran to catch up with her.
