SOMETIMES A CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE, CHANGES THE OUTCOME
"What about him?"
"What ties do you have with the boy? What connections," Shigaraki continued to question you while swinging his feet on the fish-freezer he sat on, "What ties need to be cut?"
Your face involuntarily scrunched up into a cringe, before you crossed your arms dismissively. "Nothing. The kid is just a stupid nerd, who i've had to befriend in order to maintain my cover."
"Perfect," Shigaraki snarls.
You narrowed your eyes.
"Then you'll have no resentments to the idea of us killing him."
Hold up.
"What!?" you suddenly snapped, looking more attentive, in an almost panicked manner, "Why would you do that!?"
"He's a loose end," Dabi replied casually. "He saw me, saw our ties, how we were working together. What if he's a bigmouth? He'll rat us out the first chance he gets. That's what do-good heroes do. He'll snitch on you, so we need to rid of him."
Mr. Compress walked to your side, "We need to kill him."
"No! Absolutely not, that's absurd!"
Even you didn't recognise that sentence as it slivered off your lips.
It was foreign.
Shigaraki grumble-giggles, "Ah, so Dabi's prediction was indeed correct. You do feel something special for this...Bakugou Katsuki."
"N-No, you're wrong," you stumbled back, knowing that you had been caught off-guard. "It's just, if you want to follow Stain's teachings, he was fond of ensuing real, worthy heroes. How the fuck is this honouring him?"
"You've got it all wrong there," Shigaraki grinned, "Toga and Dabi here, are the ones who joined this league in perditions of Stain. I personally, could not care less. All I care about it ending dear Toshinori's rein. So, killing this little child, will give me a window opening to dig my way into Toshinori's timeline."
You wondered how he'd do it. What kind of death Bakugou would have to face, if Shigaraki really pulled through. How he would react, what his dying last words would be.
Would they be heroic and admirable? Or one last fleeting insult.
You had a feeling it would be something to do with you.
"It's...not true."
"If you can admit that you care about this boy, it'll make everything easier."
You won't admit it.
You don't even know if it's true.
Maybe it is. Maybe Katsuki did make an impression on you.
