Song: Dancing Queen by ABBA

May 14, 1994

"Open up, bitch! It's prom night!" Richie bangs on Eddie's house door. Only Eddie's not the one to answer. It's actually Sonia. His cheeks heat instantly.

"Richie." She shakes her head at the boy before stepping to the side and allowing him room.

"Sorry ma'am."

"Mhm. Eddie is in his room. I don't think he knows how to put on his bow tie."

Richie laughs at this before hurrying to his room. He knocks quite loudly and repeats the line from earlier. "Open up, bitch! It's prom night!"

Eddie opens the door in a frenzy and Richie laughs again. "Come in! For a moment I forgot you can see each other on prom night. I don't know why but I was thinking of it like a wedding."

Richie's eyes squint. "You're on crack, aren't you? That's why your eyes are bloodshot?"

Eddie hits his boyfriend's arm. "That's so mean."

Richie smiles before wrapping his arms around the boy's waist from behind. "Kidding. You look very handsome."

"Thanks. I'm just stressed because prom starts in like thirty minutes and I can't get this damn thing on. Your uncle drop you off?"

"Actually Ben did. He spent the night last night." Richie takes over the bowtie situation.

"Oh cool. Did you have fun?" He wonders.

"Yeah it was cool. Much needed. We haven't hung out in awhile."

Eddie frowns. "Maybe I should invite Bev over soon."

Richie finally gets it and steps away. "You should."

The two now stand side by side in front of the mirror. They're both wearing matching tuxes. Except Richie's wearing a regular purple tie, whereas Eddie's purple tie is in the bow form.

"I got you something." Richie smiles and pulls out the purple boutonnière.

Eddie kisses the man and pulls him out to the living room where his mother can take pictures. And boy does she take them. Eddie thought they were gonna be late. It seemed like forever until she finally let them go.

Luckily they arrived just on time. Now the two huddle in the middle with the rest of their crew. Richie and Ben look to each other and then to the back corner. A spot they longed for. A spot that called for them.

But they don't go.

Instead they dance with their lovers because that's what good boyfriends do.

"So you know how I've been talking about LA?" Beverly basically shouts over the booming speakers.

Eddie leans in, still dancing, to hear a little better. "Huh?"

"LA!" She shouts again.

"Your dream city?" He questions.

The girl nods with a bright smile. "I've been accepted to intern for Versace."

"No fucking way." Eddie gapes.

"Well, okay. He's coming down this summer for a three month school type thing. He picked fifty in the country and I'm attending. So basically we will just run around getting everyone coffee and taking seminars. You know."

"Oh my god! Congrats. This is huge!"

Beverly smiles. "And!"

"And?"
