As the camera crew packed up, Carlos, Ryan, and Shane attempted to make small talk. Carlos did feel a little bad about what happened, and plenty embarrassed, but it was probably the right decision.
Glancing down at his watch, Carlos saw that it was 4:58. Cecil would be back on soon, so Carlos asked if his guests minded if he turned on the radio.
"Go for it," Shane said.
As Cecil's low voice filled the room, Carlos relaxed.
"The stars are gazing down at you. Staring down at you. Glaring down at you. So is the moon. Welcome to Night Vale."
"Hey!" Ryan exclaimed loudly, "That's the station we heard last night, isn't it?"
Shane listened for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "That's the one. Hey, what's up with it, anyway? Is it some sort of show?" This last part was directed at Carlos, who shook his head.
"No, it's more of a news station with a...unique style."
"So it reports...the news." It was more of a statement then a question, and Shane didn't seem to fully believe it.
"Among other things," Carlos muttered under his breath. "Uh, yes. It does the news, upcoming events, traffic, the...weather," 'Sort of,' he mused to himself.
Ryan took out a notepad and a pen. "Is there a station we can visit? That might be a good place for an interview."
Shane glanced at Ryan, but shrugged and leaned back.
Carlos, after slight hesitation, gave them the address of the station. "The show's over at 8," he added, "So Cecil should have, oh, an hour for any questions you might have."
"Cecil?"
Carlos blushed. "Um, yes. Cecil. He's the host of the show, Welcome to Night Vale."
"You guys are friends?"
"...Yes."
